The 'Mountain Course' at Ventana Canyon has received many reviews over the years and every one refers to the 3rd hole as one of the most photographed holes west of the Mississippi. The Third hole 'is' a pretty hole (par 3) and fun to play to, particularly from the tips.. The rest of the course however, we found to be nothing above average for the area, and although it is built on a mountainside it does not give you the feel of 'Mountain Golf' as it traverses the mountain mostly sideways with not much noticeable change in elevation when it comes to actual 'play'.. The price of $200.00 during peak season could be better spread over 'THREE' courses in the area that give far better value for the money.
