09/26/2002 align=absmiddle An interesting little 9-hole layout, with different--sometimes VERY different--tee boxes for each nine when playing 18 holes. Two holes switch from par 4 to par 5, depending on whether you're playing the front nine (white tees) or the back (blue). Local knowledge is definitely helpful; sometimes it's unclear where you're going--even from the middle of a fairway (e.g., no. 2)--when you're playing the course for the first time by yourself and even finding the alternative tee boxes can be iffy in a couple of spots, so wait and hook up with some locals, if you can. Some very unusual holes, especially number 2 which calls for a blind second shot from the fairway, and number 8 from the blue tees, where you feel like you're driving out onto a postage stamp. (It just feels that way; it's wider when you get out there.) Lotsa fun and nice people. They're in the middle of building a new clubhouse/proshop now--September 2002. I'll be back to play this one!

09/21/2002 align=absmiddle You will find two courses in one. The front is tree lined with multiple elevation changes. The back is a links course with generous landing areas but watch out for the shot that gets away. Tees to green were in immaculate shape. Its worth playing even if it is only once per year.
09/17/2002 align=absmiddle Well laid out, requires you to think your way around. One note: If you don't like blind tee shots, don't play here! The course has quite a few!
09/15/2002 align=absmiddle This is a very difficult & challenging course. Its all you can handle from the back tees. Ratings: (Black:75.4/145)(Gold:73.9/140)(Blue:71.9/133)(White:69.7/126)(Green:67.5/123)(Burgundy:(ladies)70.9/123
09/15/2002 align=absmiddle This a gem of a course, that is open to guest and the fee is reasonable. Well conceived lay out, you won't think your on a military post. If you get an opportunity to play it, you will enjoy it.
09/14/2002 align=absmiddle Great public golf course. Very nicely laid out and well maintained. Excellent condition. Thoroughly enjoyed playing it and would play it again.
09/14/2002 align=absmiddle Fun course to play. First class operation with some interesting hole designs. Well maintained course.
09/14/2002 align=absmiddle Nice par 3 course with excellent range and golf facilities.

09/12/2002 align=absmiddle This course has potential but needs a lot of work.
09/12/2002 align=absmiddle This course has potential but needs a lot of work.
09/10/2002 align=absmiddle A beautiful course with two faces. The front nine is beautiful and laid back. The back nine is hilly and more difficult. You'll get some use out of your sand wedge on the back nine. Great Greens!
09/09/2002 align=absmiddle This is a very nice location with 45 holes in total - there are 27 at the "Valley" and another 18 at the Ridge. Carts are mandatory at the Ridge. We took the stay and play package and for 3 days/2 nights it offers good value (golf/breakfast/accomodation). Not sure what it will be like in the Fall since there are a lot of trees that will be dropping their leaves.
09/09/2002 align=absmiddle I love this course. It is unbelievable. I am a student and only pay $25 for a cart, a bucket of range balls, and a round of golf. This course is pretty challenging from the tips. The 14th hole is a 485 yard par-4 which is downhill but really challenging. The next hole is a 475 yard par-4 which requires a long tee shot up the hill and the approach is downhill. The next hole is a 465 yard par-4 with an uphill tee shot. Any of these holes would be signature holes on any other public course.
09/07/2002 align=absmiddle This is the worse course I have ever played. The greens are distroyed. The tee boxes and fairways are over grown and in desperate need of repair. In general need of repair. The course has been abandoned for a long time. I will personally never play there again.
09/03/2002 align=absmiddle This is a excellent golf course, and I would defineately recommend this course to anyone who is traveling on I-15. Stop in and see one of the best up and coming courses in the state.
09/03/2002 align=absmiddle I've golfed on almost all of the courses in south central utah, and this one was without a doubt, my least favorite of them all. Another thing against this course is that it is not very accessible.
09/01/2002 align=absmiddle Though the hole designs did not really remind me of the styles of the architects I am familiar with, this is a great track. Public courses should not be this nice. The black tees were a great test and the conditions are phenomenal. Tees, greens and fairways are near perfect. Go play golf here.

08/29/2002 align=absmiddle Good variety of hazards: Steep bunkers, natural grass, water.
08/28/2002 align=absmiddle This course is not worth the money, you can find a better course for half the money
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle Beautiful course that is increasingly poorly maintained. Growing weed infestation on tees and not watered well during the summer.
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle Nice course but very new. Will be much better in a few years once it grows in well.
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle Used to be a nice course years ago with a great layout and lots of mature trees but when the oil money in town dried up so did the golf course. Course is seldom played and mowed even less seldom. It is not uncommon to lose a ball in the middle of the fairway.
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle Beautiful and challenging course that sometimes has maintenence problems.
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle Very good municipal course that sometimes has traffic problems due to local popularity.
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle Very scenic and challenging course layout. Too bad they don't own a mower.
08/27/2002 align=absmiddle With a little care, this could be a really nice little course. It is just not maintained well enough to warrant what they are charging to play there.

08/22/2002 align=absmiddle A nice little course with a couple of challenging holes, rangers need to speed up pace of play
08/21/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
08/21/2002 align=absmiddle The last time I played this course the first hole was a downhill par four of about 240 yards. Some of the greens are unrealistcally placed and at least one tee box demands a fade out of it in order to even find the fairway. It's not that far to other golf courses in the area. Unless you just absolutely have to play here, don't. TK
08/21/2002 align=absmiddle Played here a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The layout is interesting with a minimum of back and forth holes. The greens are the toughest feature. They are small. Hit these and you're close to the hole. Nice place to grab nine holes. TK
08/21/2002 align=absmiddle Nicely laid out track with some truly challenging holes. The seventh is a real bear which demands accuracy and distance. All the holes require accuracy as the greens are relatively small. Shotmakers will love this place. TK
08/20/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
08/20/2002 align=absmiddle The course has a nice layout but upkeep of the grass is less then expected. The creeks provide plenty of challenge and a long tee shot is required on 7. Good course but rough around the edges.
08/20/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
08/19/2002 align=absmiddle The prices indicated here are higher than they really are. Currently the course is open only to the military but service members can sponsor non military players. Also for every three players sponsored the service member golfs for free. The course this year is in great shape.
08/19/2002 align=absmiddle Good Beginner Course, The course is very well kept.

08/14/2002 align=absmiddle Who ever posted the previous reviews should be named employee of the year at Rosebrook. While not a terrible course, it definitely needs alot of work. Some areas of the fairway are so hard it is comparable to hitting off of a parking lot. The layout is pretty boring with a stretch of 4 holes (6-9) side by side without much for boundaries, pretty much like an open field. The greens, for the most part, are in decent shape. To be fair, they just recently expanded to 18 holes. Most of the problem lies with the new 9 holes. The old part of the course is much more pleasant to play, although they clumped together some par threes, (10-13 are par 3-4-3-3). As I said, it's not a terrible course, but I've played much better courses in a similar price range.
08/14/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
08/12/2002 align=absmiddle Great course, very nice greens, great layout
08/12/2002 align=absmiddle Tee off boxes were not level. The cup holes on the putting greens were oval on the course. It looked like there is a lack of water being used to keep the fairways green.
08/10/2002 align=absmiddle A good course for beginners to learn on. Not too expensive, and the layout isn't too punishing.
08/09/2002 align=absmiddle An excellent challenge. Each tee location gives a very different look. Enjoyable no matter which tee used.
08/09/2002 align=absmiddle Fairly short course that places a premium on accuracy. I found no instance where taking a risk had any sort of measurable reward. A fun mental challenge. No driving range, so warm up elsewhere.
08/08/2002 align=absmiddle This course has an outstanding layout and the greens were lightning fast and rolled true. At $45.00, this is a must play in the San Antonio area.
08/07/2002 align=absmiddle Challenging, beautiful lay-out, length and rough will make you bring your "A" game to succeed. The drive time and greens fees are the only negatives.
08/07/2002 align=absmiddle Fun course. Doesn't play as long as yardage would indicate because of the large amount of severe doglegs. If you like water, this is the course for you.
08/06/2002 align=absmiddle Very scenic and hilly, although not very difficult. A great play in the early morning or early evening.
08/05/2002 align=absmiddle Have been playing this course on a regular basis all summer. Simply because of the low price. The greens are in bad shape. Very dry and several have numerous bare spots on them.
08/05/2002 align=absmiddle Just when you thought you had conquered the game along came Stone Crest. This eye-popper layout grabs your attention and keeps it throughout 18 completely different golf challenges. No two holes are the same. The fairways are generous enough with the threat of falling off the mountain to the right of them. The greens are firm and fast and yet receptive to holding shots from the fairway. Put this baby on your "Gotta Play" list. T.K.
08/05/2002 align=absmiddle Climb the mountain for a completely unique golf experience. 18 totally different wait for you at this diamond of a course in the Kentucky coal country. With lush fairways and firm and fast, but fair, greens, this new course offers challenges for any golfer. One warning...don't hit the ball to the right. It goes down the mountain side. Add this beauty to your "Gotta Play" list. TK
08/04/2002 align=absmiddle Great course. PLay it before it becomes fully private.
08/03/2002 align=absmiddle Fun course to play.
08/02/2002 align=absmiddle Service is terrible. Just hope with the rangers out there you don't get stuck behind anyone slower than you. Decent condition, not very challenging on the mental side of the game, but a good course for those trying to learn how to hit it long solid and straight.
08/02/2002 align=absmiddle Wind blows like crazy. The course is so dry, the grass doesn't have a chance of growing.
07/31/2002 align=absmiddle Lives up to high expectations set by sister course, Ballyowen. Not one hole out of 18 that wouldn't be the signature hole on most public tracks. Twilight rate makes it an affordable day of golf. If you are ever in Sussex County to play, this is the place to go. Bring some skills or you can make some double-bogeys.
07/31/2002 align=absmiddle They have 54 holes at this course now so perhaps your information needs to be updated. It is a great course.
07/30/2002 align=absmiddle Greens were a little slow, but in great shape!
07/30/2002 align=absmiddle The twilight rate of $30 with a cart is the best deal in South Jersey. This is a nice course, much better than other public courses in the similar price range. The course, and clubhouse, have a real Carolina feel to them. The course is not long, but plays very challenging if you are not straight off the tee. There is trees lining every hole on both sides. Miss fairways, and you'll be in for a long day. The greens are unique in their shape, and many are very undualating. It has a great practice green and bar/restaurant. The only drawback is that there is no driving range, and it is at least 20 miles from anywhere. If you haven't played there yet, give it a shot. It's definately a hidden gem.
07/29/2002 align=absmiddle The layout of the course if pretty nice and a little challenging which is the only highlight. From tee to green, the conditions were terrible. The tee box was uneven, fairways were full of divots, greens were not in any condition for putting. The greens were brown and some without any grass at all. Oh, bunkers were full of rocks and not much sand. One of the worst courses I've ever played and to make things worst they raised the green fee. $35. I wouldn't pay $10 to play this course.
07/28/2002 align=absmiddle Very challenging course with a lot of up and down. Not too long in distance, so it's fun to play. Too bad condition of this course is horrible. Must be one of the worse conditioned green in NYC area.
07/28/2002 align=absmiddle Good executive course. Can be a bit slow. Greens are deceiving, tougher than they look. Staff is very nice.
07/27/2002 align=absmiddle They need to drop cart part only at least for the summer, there were many places where the grass had died.
07/24/2002 align=absmiddle Relatively easy golf course great for leisurly round of 18.
07/24/2002 align=absmiddle Great little track.
07/23/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/23/2002 align=absmiddle The best exec course in LA area.
07/23/2002 align=absmiddle Nice late afternoon 9 hole exec course. 7th hole is particularly nice with tee box on a small island in the middle of the course. Takes no longer that 1 1/2 hours.
07/23/2002 align=absmiddle This is a very nice resort course but plays slow and is pricey. You can get a great deal just across the street at the Desert Willows course and be challenged.
07/23/2002 align=absmiddle Exceptional Par 3 course. A very nice short course with plent of water hazards. The occasional shot off of someone's patio may be necessary due to the narrow fairways.
07/23/2002 align=absmiddle Nice short course. Just remember that you are at elevation and the wedges carry like an 8.
07/22/2002 align=absmiddle This is a short course, If you like using irons, this is a fun course. Greens are well maintained, only 3 holes you can use a driver.
07/22/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/22/2002 align=absmiddle Always enjoyed this course, beautiful setting
07/21/2002 align=absmiddle Wide fairways but watch out for that sand. It's everywhere. Tricky greens too. Overall I expected worse for a hacker like me.
07/18/2002 align=absmiddle I am from Fillmore and this is my home course. I just thought I would let people know what a great course it is. People from all over the state come to golf here and many people stop off the freeway to golf on their way to another golf course. Come visit this small town golf course someday and see for yourself.
07/17/2002 align=absmiddle This course just opened up and it is in incredible shape. It is only a 9-hole, par-3, but it proved to be very fun at the same time. There were lots of hazard elements to overcome. This made it a much more exciting golf course than your typical par-3.
07/17/2002 align=absmiddle Front nine plays tighter then back nine with woods that come into play. Number 10 hole is being repaired so they have put a flag and hole 100yds. closer to the tee box with a circle drawn around it(the only downfall right now).
07/16/2002 align=absmiddle Nice little course. No.6 and No.13 should be played from the blacks to make them real par 5's. Just when you think you have got the course licked you come to 16,17, and 18.
07/16/2002 align=absmiddle The second 18 known as the South course is complete and operational. The ratings listed are for what is now known as the North course. The South course doesn't have yardage markers yet and is still growing. But, when mature will be just as nice as the North. If you are a Monmouth county resident, you should consider yourself very lucky to have these 36 holes added to an already impressive county course list. The price and lack of on-course beverage cart service is what separates this course from the upscale courses in the state. Much rather play here or Hominy than the many 100 plus per round courses, even if they were the same price. Other counties should learn from Monmouth county on how to run and maintain golf courses. They may not be up to Country Club or Private upscale Daily fee course conditions, but they are very close. Play this course and you will not be disappointed.
07/13/2002 align=absmiddle A gem in Southeast Alaska! I played it twice during my stay there, and shot HORRIBLY (versus what I normally shoot), but loved every minute of it! If you aren't straight off the tee, you're in for a long round. The woods and muskeg eat up EVERY ball that leaves the fairway. Add in a couple of creeks that wind their way through almost every hole, and you're in for a treat if you get a chance to play this course. The only drawback is the artificial-turf greens--you can't hit a "normal" approach shot, and have to bump-and-run (which isn't my game!). The greens also play VERY fast, even faster than most courses I've played in Hawaii & Arizona.
07/12/2002 align=absmiddle Great Course!
07/11/2002 align=absmiddle Not a bad course for the money. Interesting holes and fairways and greens were in good shape for early June
07/11/2002 align=absmiddle Wonderful executive course. Has changed very little over the past 40 years. Excellent place to learn your short game.
07/11/2002 align=absmiddle Very good executive course. Nice combination of par 4's and par 3's.
07/11/2002 align=absmiddle A great course for beginners and a few challenges for the experts. The nine holes consist of Par 3 and Par 4 holes. Because the holes are shorter than average length, most of the shots are taken with high numbered irons. The more difficult holes have a narrow fairway layout that can decieve you into thinking its a little too easy. A great place for those with out alot of time for the full 18.

07/10/2002 align=absmiddle A good starter or short game course. You'll never need a driver, however. Good practice range though. A Par 3 nine hole.
07/09/2002 align=absmiddle Good little course. Great deal for a quick mid week round, and there's never a wait.
07/05/2002 align=absmiddle Great course in the middle of nowhere. Built in the 70s from a Nicklaus design. Very challenging from the tips.
07/05/2002 align=absmiddle For a quick nine holes, this is a good course. I have played it several times and enjoy it every time.
07/04/2002 align=absmiddle Excellent way of working on your short game. No hole is really difficult as long as you keep it straight. Good value for money compared to the cost of going to a driving range.
07/03/2002 align=absmiddle Greens are amazing and quick

07/02/2002 align=absmiddle A very challenging course with more than a couple blind tee shots. Nice and wide open. Very hilly course with very scenic views. The wind almost always figures into play.

07/01/2002 align=absmiddle This is the best public course I've ever played. The layout is astounding with extreme challenges for all levels of talent and breathtaking views from some of the tee boxes (notably # 9 and 18). Shotmaking is at a premium on this course if you hit the wrong side of the fairway or green your chance of par could be gone in a breath. It may take a few rounds to shoot a low score because you need to think your way around the course, I've played 5 rounds and finally broke 82 and I'm a 12 handicap. Great food, service, clubhouse. If you're ever in or around Zainsville, Oh you must play this course.

06/27/2002 align=absmiddle The front 9 is really tough (especially 5-8). The back 9 is easier as long as the wind is not blowing hard. Arnold Palmer did a great job.
06/27/2002 align=absmiddle One of the best 9 hole courses in southwestern Indiana.
06/27/2002 align=absmiddle Very Average 9 hole golf course. Not worth a long or short drive.
06/26/2002 align=absmiddle A lot of work has been done this year and the course is in good shape. The greens are well kept for a public course. The wide open fairways makes it a fun course for the high handicapper but the rolling undulating greens make for a challange to lower hadicappers. The value is good but they could use a better food concession.
06/26/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/26/2002 align=absmiddle This course is OK for beginners, very short, and small greens. But, in horrible condition. I think it was the 2nd or 3rd green, didn't even have any grass on it last time I was there. Ya ever try putting on hard dirt? the people there are very nice, and 4 bucks for a small pitch and putt is not bad.
06/26/2002 align=absmiddle The first three holes are long par 3's, you won't be hitting your wedge on the tee. some of the greens are tiny!! Not an easy course!! Good for the beginners though.
06/24/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/24/2002 align=absmiddle Well designed course; fun to play for all handicap levels. First class service.

06/22/2002 align=absmiddle Greens are beautiful and great to putt on. Pro Shop has great service.
06/22/2002 align=absmiddle Fun course, short, but the greens are extremely small.
06/21/2002 align=absmiddle A nice little course to get a quick game in. Challenging water design for the slicer. Overall a lot of fun.
06/21/2002 align=absmiddle Played this course about two years ago in the summer and the greens were in excellent condition. Only thing I did not like was that you had to play a lot of short irons off the tee in order to set-up your second shot.
06/21/2002 align=absmiddle Good layout for a muni course. Condition depends on time of year.
06/20/2002 align=absmiddle Here we go again. The front nine is still struggling to keep greens, GREEN. Mole Crickets are on a terror. Discounted fees due to conditions. The ground has cracks in it big enough to lose a ball in. We're suffering from severe drought. LOST the back 9 greens. Just re-sodded/planted with shredded Tiff Dwarf Bermuda sod. They're being watered several times daily to sprout'em out. Guess we'll see??? Looks like it'll be September before they'll be playable. Nothing around here will be playable if it doesn't rain soon!!!!! They're trying to recover, but NEED serious help from ABOVE, (Amen).
06/19/2002 align=absmiddle Some of the most beautiful vistas to be found on a golf course. You can almost get so absorbed by the scenery that you forget to hit the shot. The course keeps your attention and focus. It is absolutely a solid test of golf with tight fairways and hilly lies which put shotmaking at a premium. Plus it has the longest back nine in the state including a 720 yard par six. TK
06/18/2002 align=absmiddle An absolute must for any golfer coming to the Central Kentucky area. A hilly course with greens that invite you and dare you with the same breath. The fairways are lush and reward a well stroked tee shot. The par fours are anything but mundane with each one being different from the other. Bring some extra balls. You may need them. TK
06/18/2002 align=absmiddle Have yet to play this course and like it. The fairways are hard and allow for a lot of roll for tee shots but punish you if you even think about a fat shot from them. The greens are hard to read. Several of the holes are difficult simply because they are tricked up. Lots of better venues in Madison County than this. TK
06/18/2002 align=absmiddle Low marks on condition because of extremely grainy greens and sparse tee boxes. There's just too much competition right now for this course to charge what it does. Don't get me wrong; this is a wonderful and extremely challenging layout. They just need to work on the greens. I understand that they used to have bent (not practical in the Texas heat), but now they are bermuda. Maybe they should consider one of the newer hybrids that are so popular these days.

06/16/2002 align=absmiddle This course is suffering from water restrictions imposed in the Santa Fe area. Not a difficult design or length. Fairways and rough short and brown. Greens are dry and very hard.

06/14/2002 align=absmiddle This course was built in the 60's as a 9 hole course. It has recently been updated into an 18 hole course.
06/14/2002 align=absmiddle Arlington's Ditto Course is a much better value for your money
06/13/2002 align=absmiddle The back is BRUTAL!!!!
06/13/2002 align=absmiddle This is the course to play to work on your short game. A challenge to come close to par. You can finish in about 1.5 hrs if no one is ahead of you. Read the conditions. Greens will not hold unless after the rain. Great to play if time is an issue.
06/12/2002 align=absmiddle Was great until they aerated and sanded the greens. Hopefully they will improve. Otherwise, a fine jewel in West San Antonio.

06/12/2002 align=absmiddle Short course in good shape. You should put up low numbers.
06/11/2002 align=absmiddle Great course, very challenging. Quite a few hazards to keep you honest. Greens are some of the best in area, putt very true.
06/11/2002 align=absmiddle Unique links style course, offers challenges for all level of players. Interesting layout with many elevated tees and greens, plenty of sand, water comes into play on 2 extremely difficult holes from the tips. Only knock is that the condition of the fairways was far below average although greens seem to roll fine.
06/11/2002 align=absmiddle Odd location, but a spectacular course with enjoyable views. Greens are wonderful and true. Worth every penny!
06/10/2002 align=absmiddle One of the best courses in Florida. It's a hidden gem.
06/10/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/10/2002 align=absmiddle The course is not very challenging. Greens do not hold very well, players do not take care of greens/traps. It is basically a driving range that you can putt at. Course was packed 2-3 hole, green, fairway, and benches. Take a break and watch the planes fly overhead! Par 3's are all basically 140-150 yds. Par 4's are 300 yds, or less. Leave the driver at home!
06/07/2002 align=absmiddle Would be a great course if better maintained. no irrigation, so fairways are patchy and a little dry.
06/07/2002 align=absmiddle This course is a blast! I only wish it had a full 18 holes. There are a couple of great par 3 holes at the end which are absolutely wonderful...
06/07/2002 align=absmiddle A little pricey for Western Mass, but if you want to treat yourself to a Country Club atmosphere open to the public, this is the place!
06/07/2002 align=absmiddle Excellent dollar value, marshall was courtious and consistant ... allowed us to play at a 4.5 hr pace ... excellent design the most enjoyable course I have played this year.
06/06/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/05/2002 align=absmiddle Challenging course-the greens are medium to large and have shelves and sharp breaks. Most players will use all their clubs as the layout dictates postion, unless you can drive the ball 300+yards down the middle, then on most holes, it's a short iron into the green. The course itself is tree lined and has water that comes into play on several holes. It's quite scenic when you take the time to look. This is a good place to play.
06/05/2002 align=absmiddle Surprisingly scenic layout! This course compares favorably to any in the area. You are forced to make some shots and use your entire bag. It is maturing rapidly and the greens are excellent.
06/05/2002 align=absmiddle Well kept. Totally uninteresting for the money. Smell from SURROUNDING farmlands is terrible. You don't get used to it.
06/03/2002 align=absmiddle Did this course catch a cold and never recover? It looks sick. Death is everywhere: greens, fairways, tee boxes, course pro is a dud as well. I just wonder why it costs $8 more than Chinook across town which is immaculate not to mention much more friendly. Very poor value at $30 for the area.
06/03/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great course for the buck. Pretty flat, but very long and lots and lots of hazards. Course tends to dry up in the summer even to the point where approach shots have a hard time holding up. Overall, I would say it is a great bargain and quite challenging to the amateur.

06/02/2002 align=absmiddle This is a must play course and is well worth the 45 minute boat ride from Hilton Head. An outstanding layout that allows players to 'go for it' or play conservative on many holes.
06/02/2002 align=absmiddle The course is well laid out and in comparison to other courses in Southern Ontario it is a good value for the $
06/01/2002 align=absmiddle This course has some narrow fairways and difficult shots. With that in mind, quite often you are waiting for others to make it down the fairway/off the green - often the wait can be up to 10 - 15 minutes. With the wait aside, it is a challenging course with lateral water hazards on almost all of the holes. You have to try it at least two or three times before making a judgement. My first time I didn't care for the course much.
06/01/2002 align=absmiddle Very good course to work on your short game! A++
06/01/2002 align=absmiddle I have to agree with the last post! This course is very well maintained and real inexpensive. It's short and sweet!! If you only have an hour after work, during the winter months, to play - check this course out!!
05/31/2002 align=absmiddle This is a par three course which makes for fast and easy play. All you ned to play this course is your putter, a wedge, and maybe a nine iron. I would recommend this course to everyone but especially for those who need a confidence boost for their game.
05/31/2002 align=absmiddle Very enjoyable course. In great condition even in mid-July heat. Greens are fast and undulating. Tough and challenging for all types of golfers.
05/30/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/28/2002 align=absmiddle I played the course for the first time on 5/26/02. The layout is great, but you need to play it again to really understand the layout. The problem is there are too many blind shots (play it with someone who played it before). After that I think you will have a good time.
05/28/2002 align=absmiddle Contrary to the blurb on the description of this course, on windy days (prevailing south wind) only one hole plays with the wind. The others are crosswind or against the wind. The course is short, but the greens even things up. Some are elevated and others have quite a slope. The greens can be easily reached with good accuracy on your drives, but can also put you in terrible shape if not. The rough is very rough and the fairways are cut to to benefit accurate drivers, not long ones. Water can come into play on 7 of the 9 holes and the out of bounds stakes will snare you if you aren\'t careful. All in all it is a fun course to play and one you will think you are going to master until you count up the strokes at the end of 18 holes. Steve Mackey
05/28/2002 align=absmiddle Fun course to play.
05/27/2002 align=absmiddle Beautifully maintained course. Wide open fairways with challenging approach shots to the greens. Water comes into play on a number of holes. Beware the 7th, the water will kill you. Totally enjoyed my round there, looking forward to returning.
05/26/2002 align=absmiddle Built on an old landfill. Extra-fast greens. Putt true. Mostly links style. All bent tee to green.
05/26/2002 align=absmiddle The old stone restaurant / banquet hall is worth the trip. Course is fairly open, without any narrow fairways. 150 and 100 markers visible and fairly accurate.
05/26/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/25/2002 align=absmiddle Hope you like the sand because they spent about quarter of a million on sugar sand and the bunkers are plentiful. You will need lots of control shots to work the trees, bunkers, and natural landscape. Don't be afraid to leave the driver in the bag, lay up with a long iron off the tee and play smart. If you do you'll have a great time even if your score is a bit higher.
05/25/2002 align=absmiddle Course uses bent grass... in Quebec, they need to stick with blue grass.
05/24/2002 align=absmiddle There are many forgiving farways is your not a straight and narrow driver.
05/24/2002 align=absmiddle The Red Course is probably one of the best values in the whole DC area. $9 dollars for a course that has fairways facing the Washington Monument cannot be beat! I have walked a round in under one hour, which makes for the best after-work golf in town. The course is great for working on your short game and could even be played without your driver or long irons. The cousre is very well maintained and the occasional gaggle of geese makes for a great course within the Distirct lines.

05/23/2002 align=absmiddle This used to be a bargin and fun to play. They did a little maintaince, fixed up the pro shop and started charging way too much money for such a simple straight forward layout. Forget about playing on the weekend, its a death march.
05/23/2002 align=absmiddle Played it early in season and it was in best condition I've seen in years. 1st come 1st served off 1st tee, no reservation policy is good and bad. Usually hour+ wait on nice day. Front is fairly easy but holes increase with difficulty as you go. Back 9 gets tighter and longer. 14th hole on back is really nice long par 4.
05/23/2002 align=absmiddle Cool layout. Bad condition. Swapped front 9 to back 9 last time I tried to play there. But condition of course made me ask for refund after 2nd hole.
05/23/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/23/2002 align=absmiddle Nice course for your short game. Greens are usually in top notch condition.
05/22/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/22/2002 align=absmiddle This is a fun course to play for any level. There are interesting par 5's on the front and challenging holes on back. The course is hilly, (you will want to ride), fairways are narrow and if your are not true you will find the woods. The greens are in great shape, for that matter the fairways are too. I recommend this very highly, it is a must to play.
05/21/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/20/2002 align=absmiddle Good military rate, fast greens, well-maintained. If you go off the fairway, kiss your ball goodbye

05/20/2002 align=absmiddle Very good course if you have a youngster that is insterested in golf.
05/20/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/20/2002 align=absmiddle Hole # 7 is an all or nothing shot. It's in the water (fwd, back & rt) or the woods (left) if you miss the green. Lots of residential houses on the course.
05/18/2002 align=absmiddle Very challenging and fun. Bring your A game. Difficult test tee to green and the greens are sloped and quick. Well worth the trip.

05/14/2002 align=absmiddle The fairways being called rough is very kind. Unless they have made unbelievable strides in their greenskeeping. Good for a cheap last minute round and that is it.
05/14/2002 align=absmiddle Tough little course due to layout on bluffs and many trees. Pace of play can get very very slow with long back-ups on some holes. Some very scenic holes.

05/10/2002 align=absmiddle Greens are in good condition. Dirt patches in middle of fairways. Sand traps are clay.
05/10/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great place to take someone who is just starting the game. There are enough holes to challenge any player without a whole lot of trouble. Apparently it "was" an executive length course, but they have now added a couple of par 5's to the mix.
05/08/2002 align=absmiddle Tight course but a fun course w/ quite a bit of water.
05/08/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/08/2002 align=absmiddle Very solid course. I have played all over the world and this course is still one of the most challenging.

05/07/2002 align=absmiddle Outstanding course, tight and challenging. Lots of sand and water hazards. Very good greens.

05/06/2002 align=absmiddle Yardage can be shorter than scorecard, always best to step off from tee markers. Great short game work, greens were in excellent shape 5/5/02.
05/06/2002 align=absmiddle Long wait to get started, but it's in a great location - right in Golden Gate Park!
05/06/2002 align=absmiddle Extremely hilly and poor maintenance

05/06/2002 align=absmiddle The course gets lots of play and although one can't tell where one fairway ends or beins the worst problem is that the cousrse doesn't seem watered and therfore hardpan in lots of spots.
05/06/2002 align=absmiddle Beatifully kept public course. Hard to get tee time since it is a real bargin if you are local. Course kept excellent for all the play it gets. Some long and hard holes with lots narrow tree lined fairways. If that is not enough there is a fair amount of water to make you think. Not the hardest but challenging and in spots very pretty.
05/06/2002 align=absmiddle A short course that unlike most executive courses is not boring or has only very short holes. There is wetland to add to the challenge of elevated greens and rolling fairways. If you want a short course that is like a fullsized but for length this is it. It is excellently kept as well.
05/06/2002 align=absmiddle For the money it is a good practice course or beginners course. Straight forward up and back flat design. Nice people run it and play there. A good place to hit a golf ball instead of a driving range if you are an experieinced player
05/05/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/05/2002 align=absmiddle There are a number of new holes which require attendance. As this is a City owned course the City has reduced cash flow to this course to make it top notch. Sand traps are dug out but the City refuses to put sand in them due to cost. To bad as this could be a first class course.
05/05/2002 align=absmiddle Played this course last fall and was in EXCELLENT shape. Some very challenging holes. Well maintained course and clubhouse. The only problem is locating it. Very poor signs to get there. Almost took me as long to find as it took me for a round...they must work on the promotion and signs to get more people out there. Good job overall.
05/04/2002 align=absmiddle NICKNAMED EASY PAR, BUT YOU TRY TO GET PAR ON A GREEN WITH MORE DIRT THAN GRASS. IT'S CLOSE, IT'S CHEAP AND IT' GOLF HOW CAN YOU LOSE.
05/04/2002 align=absmiddle This course is a nice lay out while not being over bearing in length. The greens were slow but putted true. The fairways were in excellent shape. A nice challenge for the average golfer.
05/03/2002 align=absmiddle Good course for beginners and those looking for relaxed play
05/03/2002 align=absmiddle This course is a great value anytime of the year, but factor in twilight green fees and you're talking a super course at a fantastic price. Played from the tips it presents a stiff challenge for even the longest of knockers. They take tee times, but we walk-in most of the time without any problems.
05/03/2002 align=absmiddle Short and tight

05/02/2002 align=absmiddle Best public golf course in the Merrimack Valley.
05/01/2002 align=absmiddle Breathtaking views, lots of sand, and a great layout. Bring your "A" game and keep'em in the shortgrass otherwise bring plenty of balls.
05/01/2002 align=absmiddle This course is a beautiful course near the river. Greens are dome-like for water draining. This makes stopping your ball very tough.
05/01/2002 align=absmiddle Pretty flat course, easy to walk. The 15th is a tough approach shot but 14 is a fun S-shaped par 5. Fun course with a few shots that will get you thinking
05/01/2002 align=absmiddle You got to hit 'em straight if you play here. Pretty scenery abounds with vista's of the Eastern Washington Mtns and horizons. Almost always sunny but sometimes windy.
04/30/2002 align=absmiddle Golf Course is always in good shape and every hole is fun to play
04/30/2002 align=absmiddle The driving range is not grass. It is a pond with floating golf balls.
04/29/2002 align=absmiddle Be prepared to lose some balls. Desert area too rocky to play out of. Otherwise, a fun course.
04/26/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
04/25/2002 align=absmiddle Very challenging, hilly course with fairways that can often give you a poor lie. However, the beauty of it and maintenance on the course is worth the price.
04/25/2002 align=absmiddle Quite often a bogey on the long par 5 is very acceptable. Good fast greens. Very good course for the price. Plays slow because of the course is pretty full for 7 days a week. Must have at least 3 players.
04/24/2002 align=absmiddle Nice course...well maintained...Get A Tee Time. Its a pretty popular course. Beware of the goose! Hit one in mid flight from a tee shot...lost my ball in the drink. Maybe its me. Hate the goose! Either way, had a good time. Definitely a course to check out.
04/24/2002 align=absmiddle You won't find a nicer course in the area that costs less and would recommend if you are in the area take the time to play the lakes. Very well maintained course that is challenging and fun for all.

04/23/2002 align=absmiddle Great course in a beautiful small town.
04/22/2002 align=absmiddle Tough course. Lots of water, but no sand (odd combination.) To score well, need to turn ball both ways. Avoid during real wet periods...can get pretty swampy. Greens play very fast for Wisconsin. Lots of deals, so call ahead to see what's available.

04/22/2002 align=absmiddle Best greens around
04/21/2002 align=absmiddle There is not a Ninteenth Hole. There should be a club house to sit down in to review your scores as well as talk about your round. Right now only outside patio with no cover
04/21/2002 align=absmiddle earlier in the year, the better the shape, but too expensive for what you get
04/19/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
04/19/2002 align=absmiddle fun course
04/19/2002 align=absmiddle This is a fun little course. Being nine holes, the pace can get kind of slow on the weekends. Don't let the short yardages fool you. The greens are tiny and slope a lot. You need to be hitting wedge to most of them to have a chance.
04/19/2002 align=absmiddle Best kept secret around. All day rates available. Not just driver and then wedge. Several risk reward holes. Good fairways and greens. One bad hole. Better than Pickwick which is nearby.
04/19/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
04/18/2002 align=absmiddle Enjoyed very much. Nice course, allows you to hit all clubs. Very long par three's. One water hole on course, and it is very well designed. Lay up, or go for it?

04/17/2002 align=absmiddle An excellent course with many challenges. For the first time I recommend a caddie. They will make the trip more enjoyable.

04/15/2002 align=absmiddle Its a good course for beginners or someone who loves the game but just doesn't get out much.
04/15/2002 align=absmiddle This is a good course for our family. It's a little bit on the short side for me, but my wife, a beginner, enjoys it and is finally starting to play regularly. It's a good course for our two teenagers too.
04/15/2002 align=absmiddle Goat Ranch if I ever did see one. Greens were dead, fairways butchered, Tee boxes a joke. Nice layout and some nice holes but the course is an eye sore when it comes to the turf. Went across town to Chinook, much better shape but needed some signage.
04/14/2002 align=absmiddle This course offers a challenge. It is a par 64, but you do get the opportunity to hit every club in your bag. Very nice layout. Excellant course for the beginner or average golfer. Good course for all others to work on their iron play. Greens are designed with no straight in putts. Very Challenging
04/14/2002 align=absmiddle Even though the fairways can be a little rough,....the greens are in excellent condition...except one. The course is challenging...many doglegs an water to hit around and over. One minute your hitting on a nice flat surface...the next your hitting from on top of a hill. Highy reccommend that you get a cart...unless you really want to give your legs a workout. Green fees are $34.00 for weekends,.....well worth the price....since you dont get bored on this course.
04/13/2002 align=absmiddle This course is a lot of fun, especially the downhill 10th, from 165 yards, it drops about 75-100 feet with a pond directly behind the green. Great mix of short 100-125 yard holes and 165-200 yard holes. Great test for the short game.
04/12/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
04/11/2002 align=absmiddle Great, fun course for a beginner (or a lousy golfer like myself)! Hole 4 is fun, because the objective is to put it IN the creek from the tee (free relief if you do). Hole 5 is a real killer, because it's 420 yards but the hole is elevated at least 30 feet above the tee, so it's more like shooting 500 yards. Still a par 4 hole, though.
04/11/2002 align=absmiddle Great course. Very challenging for a Par 3 course. Greens are typically much slower than one expects.
04/11/2002 align=absmiddle Do not play red course unless you are very accurate.
04/11/2002 align=absmiddle Since the back 9 has been added this course is really the best around for the money
04/10/2002 align=absmiddle The clubhouse is a dump. The first three holes lull you into a false sense of security (they're all 100 yards or less, par 3's), and then ambush you with the more challenging holes. The 4th hole tees off over a small water hazard, to a hidden green. The fifth hole is a short uphill iron to another hidden and VERY challenging green. The sixth hole is the longest on the course and will make you bring out your driver. Seven is a nightmare and you really only get one putt due to the steep incline of the green. Eight is a par 3 with tough bunker positioning, and Nine is only remarkable in that it is tight on the right side (thick treeline) and the green is unforgiving on the back side (butting up against the water hazard from Hole #4). This course is pretty challenging for the beginner, and allows an all-club game, much more so than you would expect from a 9 hole almost par 3 course. Bear in mind that I'm still a lousy player, so your mileage may vary dramatically.
04/09/2002 align=absmiddle Excellent course for the money!

04/03/2002 align=absmiddle Nice course. Reasonably priced
04/03/2002 align=absmiddle One of the better public courses in this area. Well maintained and the staff is courteous and helpful.

04/01/2002 align=absmiddle This place is a lot of fun! The staff is the friendliest around! Kind of dangerous as the holes are packed in together. Greens are small and difficult to hit. Good scores if your playing well, otherwise the scores will be as high as any other course!

03/30/2002 align=absmiddle One of the best courses in Central Florida that I have played. The course was in great shape the greens were a little slower than I like but other than that it was in perfect shape. I played on a Saturday morning and played it took 3 1/2 hours to finish.
03/30/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
03/28/2002 align=absmiddle This course could be much better than it is. There was a bit of standing water on the fairways and most of the fairways were overwatered and marshy. The course also is not very green, probably because all the plant life is drowning. The greens were slow but in better condition than the rest of the course. The layout is pretty good, however, and the view of Bear Mtn. so close is pretty impressive. I just wish there was some solid ground in the fairways. It would have made for a better day (and score).
03/27/2002 align=absmiddle This is a well maintained public 9 hole course. It is short but great for working on your iron game. The greens are soft and roll nice. Keep your driver at home and you will have fun.

03/24/2002 align=absmiddle usually not crowded
03/23/2002 align=absmiddle I learned the game on this course in the early 70's .. I think it is the most attractive 9-hole course I have played ... many many mature trees .. They provide the only real challenge on the course

03/20/2002 align=absmiddle This is a fun course! Don't worry about the clubhouse or amenities, but the course is a fun layout, good elevation changes, nice bent greens, definitely a challenge. One to enjoy!
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle I live in Raleigh and this is my FAVORITE course in the RDU area. Superb fast bent greens, challenging, very well laid out for walking- don't drive, the cart paths make you walk furthet than if you walked in the first place. Just a great course!
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Trailer for a club house, but don't be fooled, this is an awesome course. The greens are bent, fast and hilly. A lot of waste area, so hit the ball where the course tells you to. One of my favorites in Pinehurst area.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Well maintained municipal course. It's a mature course with lots of big trees, just enough bunkers to satisfy those that like the challenge of having to target your shots. Great for walking in hot weather because of the shade from the trees.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Strange course, but for the money it's a nice, fast-paced course, not crowded (there's a nice course on the other side of town) and not too difficult if you just want to work on your short game.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Don't play this course if it's real windy. Like the course description implies this course requires precision. It's only 9 holes, but play it twice from different tee boxes and you'll have a great time.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Don't slice your tee shot, especially on the first hole. #1 is one of the only holes that you can see the green from the tee box, but you'll be across the highway if you slice your tee shot and in the trees if you hook.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Very nice course, almost championship quality. It's so new that given a few years it will mature and become a real sought-after course for golfers far and wide.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Like the course description says, this is a well-maintained course with lots of challenges to keep players of all skill levels coming back. Some very memorable holes.
03/20/2002 align=absmiddle Lots of fun to play. There are plenty of chances to lose balls if you aren't precise on at least half of the tee shots.
03/18/2002 align=absmiddle Excellent greens, maintained very well.
03/18/2002 align=absmiddle Challenging course, enjoy #16 hole, drive off the top of the hill to the green at the bottom, you can get some nice dirves on this hole.
03/18/2002 align=absmiddle Winter package deal is very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this resort although beginners might find it a little difficult.

03/18/2002 align=absmiddle This course is now sometimes called Creekside. This is one of the best courses in Georgia for the money. It is in outstanding shape for any price, but particularly for a course that costs less than 50 bucks. It has some wackiness, and I would argue that the "signature" hole (representative of the wackiness) is the 11th; where you hit 4-iron from the tee due to a short fairway, and 3 wood to the green over a swamp. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker, and last time I played there, it looked like they were about to extend the fairway so you could at least hit 3-wood from the tee. The 18th is a great hole, but you must hit long to go for it in two, or be able to drop a long iron on a dime and stop it like a wedge. That green is unforgiving. If you are in the area of Marietta, Acworth, Douglasville, it is well worth your while, and the few sheckels that you will pay in green fees.

03/16/2002 align=absmiddle It's a fun small course. The people are pleasant. Great for new golfers.

03/16/2002 align=absmiddle When you want to play, but don't have the time for a full game, try this place. It's a short 9, but very well maintained and inexpensive. This course is better maintained than some I have played for three times the fees. Give it a try!

03/14/2002 align=absmiddle Pure joy, call in advance...1-2 days for course conditions and events. Play it often...credit cards accepted...soft spikes...proper dress and take good care of this beauty.....Paul
03/13/2002 align=absmiddle I think this is one of the best public courses in the Kawartha's area. I play here often and always enjoy it and find it challenging. It's a long ball hitter's course with plenty of birdie opportunities if you are hitting them well.
03/13/2002 align=absmiddle noisy and short
03/13/2002 align=absmiddle If you can put up with the front desk, this is a fun course. Worth the trip at this price

03/10/2002 align=absmiddle Beautiful, Well maintained, some challenging holes
03/06/2002 align=absmiddle This course is overpriced. It costs the same to play their 9 holes as is does to play others 18. However, the holes are very challenging and you are not rushed on weekends. The course is also well maintained.
03/06/2002 align=absmiddle Good course with lots of fairway traps - does tend to be repetitive. Located in the villages, good value, great practice area.
03/06/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great course - real shot-maker's layout. Fair but tough. Has hosted some LPGA special events. Located in the villages. Great value, no practive range.
03/06/2002 align=absmiddle This is now an 18 hole course - fair but not for the faint of heart - course demands accurate tee shots, greens are tough to hold, are quick and subtle. The comparative short length is deceiving - the slope and rating are true championship - make a good score here and you can play anywhere.
03/05/2002 align=absmiddle I have played this course many times over the past 30 years while visiting a relative. It has a very straight forward design and is a long course. All four par 4's are challenging distance wise -- but straight, mostly straight as an arrow. The two par 3's are trickier than they look, although a scratch golfer would probably eat them up. The par 5 9th hole is VERY LONG and easily the most challenging hole on the course. Eat your wheaties before teeing up on this one. A fun, mildly challenging course. Worth a drive (pun intended).
03/05/2002 align=absmiddle Bad part of town. Not scenic, period.
03/04/2002 align=absmiddle Great course. Play before it is discovered.
03/04/2002 align=absmiddle Nice little Par 3 to practice your short iron game on. You will not need more than a 6 iron to play. Very challenging small greens, water all the way down 3 of first 4 holes. Lighted at night for night play. 3 story driving range, matts and grass available.
03/04/2002 align=absmiddle Great course to play if you want to get in a quick nine during the week, a little crowded on the weekend. Not very challenging but it is a good place to play for practice. Very easy to walk, Greens are OK, some tee boxes are very bad. No driving range.
03/04/2002 align=absmiddle Nice little 9-hole course. Tee boxes change if you play second nine gives you a different look at the hole. Very good for the money.
03/04/2002 align=absmiddle Evergreen is a very nice course -- well kept and challenging for the average golfer. The fairways are imaculate and the greens run fast. There are plenty of soft-sand bunkers and water comes into play on 3 holes. The only complaint I have is the pace of play on the course. It is often crowded -- and one night I waited almost a half an hour to tee-off to the FOURTH hole. If you use a cart, check for rules at the club house. The marshall is VERY particular about where they can go (I got yelled at once) and the rules change as the season progresses.
03/03/2002 align=absmiddle If its your first time here, prepare to go "Hmm, where's the next hole?" Aside from no post showing which hole you're heading to. Its fairly nice with water comeing in to play on the 8th and 9th hole. The greens are pretty nice and fairly large. If you haven't been, well I'd say give it a try. Weekday cost was $7.00 when I went.
03/02/2002 align=absmiddle I am sure the north carolina people know of this place, I am from New Jersey, and, trust me, this place is a jewel.
03/01/2002 align=absmiddle Greens are concrete! Do not try to hit and stop ball on green. Many dirt areas. Grass areas are limited to tees and greens!
03/01/2002 align=absmiddle The wind and the native grass rough make up for the lack of the water hazards.
02/27/2002 align=absmiddle The course was in the most poor shape I have ever seen any course. The layout was fair yet challenging. The pace of play was difficult to judge... It was slow at times, but it should have been speedy because the course was more or less empty. I would not advise one to go here unless you are simply looking for a really cheap round of golf.
02/25/2002 align=absmiddle Not a hacker friendly course. Members yell at slow play and cart riders can find themselves without carts if they stray from the paths (they took the key right from the cart!). Not worth the hastle for slow play and bad conditions.
02/24/2002 align=absmiddle I have played this course a few times. The holes that I enjoy are 1,2,7 and 9.

02/22/2002 align=absmiddle This is a short 9 hole par 27 course. The course is in good condition and is fun and easy to play. Good course for beginners.
02/22/2002 align=absmiddle This is the best 9 hole course in the Sacramento area.
02/21/2002 align=absmiddle A challenging course that is fun to play for all handicap golfers. Not extremely long. Greens are nice and roll true. Course has a links feel to it and has several difficult holes but also has several holes that can yield birdies. The stretch of holes from 13-18 offers great challenge to this fine course.
02/21/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great course to work on your short game. Only a few holes require a wood off the tee (I use a 4 wood on the longest). The layout of the course is a bit confusing the first time out. Upkeep could be better -- although the greens are in pretty good shape. I have never found it busy. Play 18 holes in 3 hours.
02/20/2002 align=absmiddle The overall course condition was poor, especially the tee boxes. Not one of them had a level spot. This is too bad, as the layout of the course is challenging to the "average" golfer.
02/20/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great walking course (no carts allowed.), and a great value. The fairways and greens are always in excellent condition. It's a short course - only 4010 yards from the men's tees, which provides a great opportunity to work on the long irons. The layout winds through various housing tracts and lots of mature vegetation. An enjoyable course for any skill level.
02/19/2002 align=absmiddle Very challenging course, especially the back nine. Great course and great price.
02/18/2002 align=absmiddle You can swing freely on most drives. #4 is a hole where your drive must be on the money if you plan to have a shot on the nice dog leg left. If you're lucky you may see a couple of the local hawks that call the course their home. If you think it's too easy, try the blues!
02/18/2002 align=absmiddle A decent and challenging course. Plenty of variety for all golfers. Greens are not always well kept and pin placements are silly at times. Too many weekday tournaments!!!
02/18/2002 align=absmiddle This is a very challenging course that plays a lot tougher than the yardage would indicate. There are several tight fairways, and the 200 yard over the water tee shot on #3 has got to be the most challenging thing I have ever seen. On top of all that, the clubhouse and maitenance staff are second to none!
02/18/2002 align=absmiddle For the small price of the green fees there, you will more than get your money's worth. The fairways and greens are a little slower than usuall, but the course is quite playable and challenging. One hint: the course is built on the side of a hill, so all putts that appear to be straight in will break toward town. Just look for the elevators.
02/18/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great course for begginers and recreational golfers. It is pretty wide open and flat.
02/17/2002 align=absmiddle This course, although somewhat short, is quite demanding. Water, trees and accuracy each play a vital roll in a good score. Try the championship tees, and you'll enjoy the course a little more. I've played this course on and off in my visits to the area for over 20 years, and have enjoyed it each and every time.
02/15/2002 align=absmiddle Nice course (only nine holes) with friendly staff.
02/14/2002 align=absmiddle This course is very challenging and is always in excellent condition unless it has rained very recently. I give it two thumbs up!
02/13/2002 align=absmiddle All I can say is if you get a chance to play this course, don't pass it up. You will love it.
02/11/2002 align=absmiddle Would be better off playing on asphalt. A little water on the fairways would be nice
02/07/2002 align=absmiddle They are improving this course all the time. Always in good shape. Tough and enjoyable course to play.
02/06/2002 align=absmiddle Great Course, overseeded with Rye in the Winter (one of only a few in Raleigh area that do that). Fantastic Layout. Greens are Bent Grass and usually are nice and quick
02/06/2002 align=absmiddle Very challenging but fair. Tee shot very important. Greens in great shape. Course is very tough from tips. Fantastic views of Las Vegas Valley. I highly recommend this course.
02/06/2002 align=absmiddle A hidden gem in Chelmsford, MA. Check it out.

02/05/2002 align=absmiddle Not overly long or wooded, there is quite a bit of water that comes into play. Most fairways are rather generous in their landing areas for the average golfer although the big hitter can run a risk on several holes. The bustle of Interstate 71 can cause some problems as it borders a few of the holes and makes for a noisy shot when trying to concentrate. The greens are relatively easy to read with some undulations and grain breaks that can be tricky.
02/05/2002 align=absmiddle This course can lull you to sleep and then bite you in the keyster. Several holes look like a walk in the park only to allow you to be mugged at the green. A decent golf challenge for a nine holer.
02/04/2002 align=absmiddle Apache Creek is a tremendous desert course. It is located out of the way so it doesn't get crowded and the price is very reasonable. Unfortunately, you cannot enjoy a cold beer after a round. They do not serve alcohol.

02/03/2002 align=absmiddle This course is great not only for the experienced golfer, but for the begining golfer as well. The course is wide enough to accomidate those more than occasional "mis-hits" that seem to occure from begining golfers, which allows them to keep pace.
01/31/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
01/31/2002 align=absmiddle The best deal in Ontario, championship feel and the greens are hard, fast and large. Sand is very playable. Course is set for placement shots , distance is not a advantage. Must place shots in narrow fairway. left or right of the fairway will cost you a shot. slicers need not apply. You will want to play it again and again.
01/31/2002 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
01/31/2002 align=absmiddle Difficult course, front nine very different than back nine. Some tough holes. Great service.
01/30/2002 align=absmiddle While this may not be the most beautifully manicured course in Hawaii, it is a course you won't get tired of playing over and over. It is one of the best values on the Big Island.
01/30/2002 align=absmiddle This is a short course that is usually in pretty fair shape. The course is noisy due to a freeway running through the middle of the course. The only par 5 is an insult to golf. It is a dogleg that you must use mid iron off the tee, a fairway wood over a small pond and a long iron or fairway wood to the green. Of the first 5 holes, 3 are par threes and back up play on busy days.
01/30/2002 align=absmiddle A good course for it's purpose. I played on a weekday morning when the course was not crowded and the pace was fast. I had friends who played on Sunday afternoon and they said the pace was very slow.
01/30/2002 align=absmiddle Great nine hole course. Very good for sharping your game.
01/30/2002 align=absmiddle Every hole has Character. San Vicente has a few beautiful par threes(2,12,16) and no two holes are alike. Very mature and fun to play
01/28/2002 align=absmiddle Nice course. #16 "signature" par 3 is actually dumbest hole on course. Contrived traps make it look like a crop circle in rural England.
01/28/2002 align=absmiddle Played it twice in November and found it to be in superb shape, very challenging, a real beauty to play.
01/28/2002 align=absmiddle I consider this my home course and play 25 to 30 times a year.Although good any time of the year the best time is in the summer when the greens are fast and true and the fairways plush.
01/27/2002 align=absmiddle good short course - nice place to work on those approach shots

01/26/2002 align=absmiddle Par 3 course with varying length holes. Will use most of the clubs in your bag.

01/24/2002 align=absmiddle The front and back nines are totally different. The front nine has much more elevation change with plenty of out of bounds to the right. The back nine is more of a links style course. It has little elevation change with most of its out of bounds to the left.
01/24/2002 align=absmiddle This is Arnold Palmer's new course in the area. An absolutely breathtaking layout that is surprisingly playable from all the tees. Shot placement is a premium and accuracy to the greens is a must. The greens are immaculate and the fairways very generous in the short landing zones. Longer hitters take a risk. An absolute must play course.
01/24/2002 align=absmiddle A par three course with a couple of interesting holes but that's about it. The fairways get shaggy and the greens play inconsistently due to maintenance. If you're looking for somewhere to swing a stick in this area, look elsewhere.
01/24/2002 align=absmiddle This course throttles me every time I play it. (I'm a 6 handicap and long off the tee) It's not long but it has its share of in jail lies. The greens are like hitting to postage stamps compared with other courses in the area. A very fair test of golf for players of all levels.
01/24/2002 align=absmiddle In a word...WOW!!! Tremendous layout that enthralls you from the first shot. Brethtaking views from almost every tee, while playing a course that is well laid out, well maintained and as challenging as they come. If you're within five hours of Oak Ridge, you have to play this one.
01/24/2002 align=absmiddle Greens were very soft which contributed to the large number of ball marks on the par 3's. Given the fact that it gets a lot of play, this course was in good condition. Pace of play amounted to about 4 hours for a fivesome. Most challenging hole for this high handicapper was the #9 par 5. It has a nice wide fairway, but not wide enough for me, and the pen placement at the time made it challenging to read the break accurately. Pen placement on the #8 par 3 was just as challenging - back right corner with multiple break lines. All in all, an easy and fun course to play.
01/23/2002 align=absmiddle Tired of boring executive courses? This is not your typical par three. A top quality course from the word go, this course offers the shotmaker the chance to experiment with several options on the par fours. A great "gamblers" course if you like to take chances on your shots. Always well maintained.

01/23/2002 align=absmiddle If you just have to have some place to play I guess this would satisfy you. Not a good layout at all. Shot variety is almost non-existent. You're tired of the course after the first three holes. A par three course that would make a great park.
01/23/2002 align=absmiddle Accuracy is the key to playing this tough little gem of a course. Probably some of the best greens not found at a course that thinks too highly of itself. This course offers rewards for well stroked shots and punishment for straying from the straight and narrow. An excellent test of golf.
01/23/2002 align=absmiddle This is a great course if you are a mid to high handicapper. It is fairly wide open but has some areas of rough that are tangly. The fairways are very hard and give the golfer some extra roll on tee shots. The greens are decent though not spectacular. Good place to spend some time playing golf.
01/22/2002 align=absmiddle Pleasant but not terribly interesting course. Well-maintained but not in the "resort quality" category. A good value compared with so many other overpriced Arizona courses in winter time. A bit of water to contend with, but fairways are generous and greens are large and of good quality. Flat and easy to walk.

01/21/2002 align=absmiddle A real dog track. Pace was fast because no one plays there.
01/21/2002 align=absmiddle Well maintained greens and fairways. Never a wait from Tee boxes. The only thing lacking is the clubhouse.
01/20/2002 align=absmiddle A fun course. The service was excellent. They let me go off first by myself so I could make a business meeting later in the morning. The back nine thru the quarry is an experience!

01/18/2002 align=absmiddle This course is fun if you're planning on playing with a few buddies, downing a couple of beers, and just messing around. The course is in poor shape (you'll hit off a mat on several holes), but the worst part about this course is the imbeciles who frequent it. If you walk on, plan on teaming up with hacks who not only can't play golf, but fail to observe the most basic rules of golf etiquette.
01/17/2002 align=absmiddle This is a good course to practice your short game. It can be played in 40 minutes which makes it perfect for a long lunch. It also is a good course to introduce someone to golf for the first time.
01/14/2002 align=absmiddle You get what you pay for but how can you beat the price? The greens are in decent condition, the layout simple with only two par 4 holes and a creek (flood control channel) that comes into play on almost every hole. Holes 8 and 9 are from elevated tees, #8 shooting over the "creek."
01/14/2002 align=absmiddle Bring your lawnmower because they don't seem to own one. Unless you hit the green, you're in the rough. There's no difference between the fairway and the rough. I suggest taking two or three shots off the tee. If you don't hit the green, pick up your balls (if you can find them), drop one on the green and putt from there. I'm not kidding on this one.
01/14/2002 align=absmiddle Simple 9 hole par 36. Conditions vary by season. A couple of deceptively long holes, a few doglegs, water, and, of course, a nearby dairy farm... Still, it's definitely worth the money.

01/09/2002 align=absmiddle This course is a very good course for the price. They are in the process of building a new nine holes (for 27 total, not counting the par 3 course). They are targeting spring or early summer 2002 for the opening of the new 9. I believe that with the new 9 this will be a excellent course for beginner and low handicap golfer alike!

01/03/2002 align=absmiddle Land is dry hard to hit off of,so that is good to work on hitting better, cleaner shots, layout is good in that a lot of hills,so different lies to judge. All in all not a bad place to learn.I did. Thanks Joe,Ed.Mike.Paulie

12/18/2001 align=absmiddle If you read my other post, understand that the course was in poor repair and the PGA Pro, turned greenskeeper is doing his best to improve things. This is a Navy base southeast of New Orleans, proper. All but one of the greens is elevated. Play can be slow with golfers searching the woods for mishit tee shots on the back nine. The greens are finally at there "winter green" condition (rye). Putting fairly true (would be better if the players would take time to repair pitch marks, but that seems to be an endemic problem in south). Mole Crickets are another issue that flare up from time-to-time. ONLY 1 PROBLEM, unless you a military member or on a "pre-approved" list, you won't be allowed onto the base (lots of well-armed sailors), thanks to bin Laden and company. Driving range has good grass, no sand to practice from. Has 2 putting greens to chip and putt. Folks are very friendly at the Pro Shop, but the snack bar is unpredictable (don't come here with hopes of a hot meal, cause you never know IF & when they'll be open to serve you). Things may change as far as the layout. The original 9 (front 9) are being consumed by a new USMC building. They should start work on clearing the woods and reworking the course so that both nines will be wooded and on the same side of the road. Time will tell? I figure 2-3 years for the complete make-over. Government job, you know! Hosts the NAS Men's Golf Association. You're invited to join us. Liesurely competition with tourneys ususally the last Saturday of the month. $20-$25 dollars includes cart, green fees and tournament cash. Annual wing-ding in October with 2-day tourney and gut busting steak BBQ meal. Hit'em straight!
12/15/2001 align=absmiddle This course belongs in the same category as Black Forest and Dunmaglas as being the hardest courses you will ever play. I played this course from the chmpionship tee and earned every good shot and score throughout the round. Nothing came easy. My score of 84 was hard fought and hard won. There are many fine holes here and it will get a second play from me. I don't recommend this course to a high handicapper unless the said golfer can control his/her ego and will play from the appropriate tees. Study the card and choose your clubs wisely and you may do well.
12/12/2001 align=absmiddle For the true golfer who is up for an enjoyable as well as a challenge you can't go to Myrtle Beach and not play this course! Excellent condition! Beautiful layout! Most friendly staff!
12/12/2001 align=absmiddle I have been to Myrtle Beach for more than 10 golf vacations and this course is the most beautiful, well maintained, friendliest staffed course I have played. Don't miss this one!
12/12/2001 align=absmiddle Fun place for learning and for youngsters starting out..easy walk for the exercise!
12/11/2001 align=absmiddle Whoever keeps making bad reviews about my golf course needs to relize that I mka eno money at this course, I really enjoy taking care of this course and I really do wish that you make honest reviews of my course. Henry Friesen
12/11/2001 align=absmiddle Average course,very slow greens
12/07/2001 align=absmiddle Awww man this course is da bomb, me and my brothas went and played on this course and we scored well my 38 handicap went down to 22, **** yeah brotha this course is awesome i brought my hamma to the course and let it rip, the ball rolled well on the finest sand a golf course could have. Great course for me and my brothas to play on.
12/06/2001 align=absmiddle It sucks and its hard to stick youre tee in the rock hard tee boxes. Dont bother putting because you have to rake it after youre done. people who cant play golf go there and score well.
12/06/2001 align=absmiddle good course for just unleashing on the ball. if you have distance you will score well.
12/06/2001 align=absmiddle Getting wasted while playing here is fun. Sand greens are great (sarcasim). If wasted watch out for the large crick running through the course with garbage in it. ****.
12/06/2001 align=absmiddle To me, this is a destination course in the Piedmont Triangle area. First class facility, good service, and a truly outstanding track. One of the best courses I have played for the money, bar none.
12/06/2001 align=absmiddle A must play when you're in Amarillo
12/02/2001 align=absmiddle Course is not constantly maintained, but is adequate. Very challenging, especdially the par-3's. Sloping fairways, guarded by numerous pine tree's that will force you to be accurate on your drives and will really test your course management. Course also has a nice balance of sand traps and water hazards. They have a brand new fleet of golf carts, a nice pro shop. You don't have to wear collars, and they have weekly tournaments. The monthly price is $40.00 with a $100 initiation fee. Best deal in Hattiesburg!
11/28/2001 align=absmiddle Like the course, however they can really jam it up on summer weekends making 5 hr rounds the norm
11/26/2001 align=absmiddle I played this course in the fall and to my surprise the greens and fairways gave the appearance of a summer day. Very well maintained.
11/25/2001 align=absmiddle I don't know what I can say about this course that hasn't already been said. A "Must Play". A "Top 10" course. "Beautiful". "Awesome Condition". Probably the best endorsement I get about this course is when I play with a group of strangers and in a discussion of the best courses, St. Ives always is at the top. 'Nuff said. :)

11/21/2001 align=absmiddle Overpriced, unless you have a coupon (2for1). Great conditions (11/01). This is a memorable golf course. You should play it at least once. It's a great design, you'll use every club in the bag. Only drawbacks are the price, the pace, and the proshop staff. They aren't very warm or welcoming, something you expect when your dropping 75 on a round.
11/21/2001 align=absmiddle Beautiful course. A lot of memorable holes, especially on the back 9. I played on a Monday and finished so quickly that I was able to replay all 18. Now one of my favorites.
11/21/2001 align=absmiddle This course has been lengthened since the description was written. New holes were added, some old ones lengthened. Par is now 70, with 6 par 3 holes. The new layout is better than before, and requires shot-placing skills on many holes. New yardage is 6013 from blue markers, 5546 from whites, 4605 from red. A set of gold tees has been added at 5088 yds.
11/20/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
11/20/2001 align=absmiddle Course plays very short but the greens all look like the top of a football helmet. If you dont hit them in the middle you ball will roll right back at you.
11/20/2001 align=absmiddle A good 9 hole learning course. Convenient, since any public golf course is at least 20 minutes away. Slow play, but that's what you expect at a par 3 course. Good greens, but not the prettiest par 3.
11/12/2001 align=absmiddle good beginners course
11/12/2001 align=absmiddle A tough course that provides no relief for errant shots. Lots of water and thick brush. Very long from the tips. Will definitely raise your handicap. You definitely get your money's worth on this course.
11/11/2001 align=absmiddle I found this an interesting and challenging course with good variety for an executive course.
11/10/2001 align=absmiddle Alot of water to keep you honest....enough sand to keep you honest. Just be sure to get a cart that will keep you golfing. Some are better than others.

11/07/2001 align=absmiddle It's a jewel now that it has been redone
11/06/2001 align=absmiddle Very good course. Well maintained, easy to get a tee time, resonable priced for the area. Course is fun, narrow fairways, plenty of sand and water make it very challenging. By far the highlight of this course is the incredible view.
11/05/2001 align=absmiddle Flat, open layout. Bunkers at every green, many with substantial lips. Water in play on five holes. It's inexpensive and you can walk at any time except some holidays. A good local value.

10/27/2001 align=absmiddle Fun par 3 course. Has lots of water holes and is maintained at high level for public par 3 course. Greens are immaculate and the price is a real bargain for a luxury par 3 layout.
10/26/2001 align=absmiddle Great course. Would play again any time
10/23/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
10/19/2001 align=absmiddle Great rates before the winter season. Some of the toughest greens I have putted. Course has three sets of men's tees for all levels of players.
10/17/2001 align=absmiddle If for no other reason than to play the long par 5 (630 yards...closes one of the nines)as a test of your manhood, you need to play this course. Sneaky tough is the best way to describe it with hilly fairways and par threes that you'll swear are not that long until you try to hit them. The greens can be a bit choppy at times (receives heavy play) but are still firm and reasonably easy to read. One of Lexington muni courses and a good value.
10/17/2001 align=absmiddle Perhaps everybody ought to play this course if just to give them a greater appreciation of their own home course. The layout is way too hilly, only nine holes and has greens that are simple too penal. They are hard and as fast as concrete. The ninth hole is a par 5 of 437 yards that demands a mid iron shot over trees off the tee. Try it once...just once.
10/15/2001 align=absmiddle Can't beat this course for a more Texas feeling from Hospitality to Challenge. Everything is bigger in Texas and this is one big success.
10/11/2001 align=absmiddle Long par 3, one hole is 210 from tee. Average pace, a lot of casual golfers. But greens are well kept and at 13 bucks a pop one heck of a good value. A nice course to play when winter greens fees get high in the valley.
10/11/2001 align=absmiddle Great course! Water is in play on 9 holes and must be carried 5 times. Flags are well protected by bunkers and water, making the course challenging. But wide fairways make it a "grip and rip" kind of course. Great fun! A well kept course. One word of caution-If you rent a cart, make sure it has good power when you leave. For some reason I have seen and experienced my fair share of dead carts at that course.
10/09/2001 align=absmiddle My favorite "everyday" or midscale type course in the Philly area, good value @ $52 Weekend. ride. Shortish, targety, and tight, big hitters will hate it. Lots of elevation changes, nice bunkering. Core maintenance is very good, peripheral is not bad, a few dirt patches but generally in good shape. Don't walk it. Toughest par 4 is #6, short drive across ravine to tight sloped landing area, approach must carry bunker to 2 tiered green. Great finish with #17, a great little severe downhill par 3, and #18 signature tight, creek-lined par 5 finish. On Summer Saturdays, expect to play #18 under the watchfull eye of a wedding crowd on the deck of the new clubhouse, the closest you'll ever come to a stadium course gallery. Pro shop and starters can be a pain in the ass, but have been more tolerable in the last year or so. Rating: 7.75 Best Bar nearby: Decent little bar at the clubhouse with hotdogs, cold beer, and TV. Also, since this is the closest non-dogtrack to the city, when in Center City Philly, Joby recommends for boozing: For gentlemen's clubs, Joby's Best Of Philly is hands down, Cheerleaders on Front St near Oregon Ave, good talent, and the best $20 couch dance you'll ever experience. Delilah's, 100 Spring Garden, near Columbus (aka Delaware) Ave, has a bigger rep and better advertising, but it's a distant second. Good talent, tamer $10 couch dances, but drinks are pricey. For more standard pubs, try McGillin's, 1310 Drury Lane (near Broad & Chestnut, behind Lord & Taylor Dept. store), tough-to-find back alley old school ale house dating back to the 1800's, gets crowded early. Actors from the nearby theater district are known to duck in the back door between acts for a belt. Karaoke Saturday nights are fun. OR, Dirty Frank's, 347 S. 13th St, the original quintessential dive bar with an unmarked door, you'll see suits next to bikers next to art students next to Yuppies, be prepared to do some serious swilling, and you can buy the artwork right off the walls. OR, Shampoo, alley between 7th & 8th near Callowhill, ultra-modern multi-level warehouse club, hot DJs, beautiful people, freaks, 6 foot transvestites. Be someone else here. OR, Continental Lounge, Market St, Olde City, named one of the 50 coolest bars in America by Playboy, quintessential martini bar in an old silver diner, beautiful people with a 60's retro-futuristic vibe. OR, Bar Noir, 18th St, tiny basement bar with noir movie decor, elbow to elbow big city eclectic crowd, good tunes, occasional celebrity sightings, it's the late night hotspot. For grub, Joby recommends: For the classic Philly cheesesteak the way it was meant to be, try Geno's or Pat's, both near 9th & Passyunk, get it with Cheeze Whiz. OR Devon, 18th St on Rittenhouse Square, upscale, great seafood, thorough menu, best crabcakes in Philly, darkwood and tile decor, solid staff, open air bar and sidewalk tables all summer. Also try Blue or Rouge on either side of Devon. OR, San Marzano, Walnut St near 16th, affordable italian with limited but reasonable menu of awesome individual pizzas (try the Cajun), salads, and pastas, live Jazz during dinner. OR, City Garden, 18th & JFK, not in Chinatown but the best Chinese in the city. OR, Tre Scalini, 155 S. 11th St, South Philly, tops of this famous Italian section of the city, great homemade italian dishes in homey setting, BYOB keeps the check reasonable. OR, Tangerine, Market St, low tables with cushion seats and draped tapestry background, the hot restaurant for the beautiful people. OR, DiNardo's Famous Crabs, 312 Race St, fresh steamed crabs all year round, flown in daily, and their secret "crab vinegar" dipping sauce is what sets these apart from the average crab.
10/06/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great course to practice your short game, The employees are friendly and try to be as helpfull as possible. they also rent carts.
10/05/2001 align=absmiddle No Challenge, Its a prety flat course
10/04/2001 align=absmiddle Great course and practice facilities. If you are a University student (UWSP), you are eligible for discounts so ask about them.
10/04/2001 align=absmiddle Prices on this listing were inaccurate. We played Sept. 29 and Oct. 1. Price (without cart) was $19.50 (with cart was $28) Second 18 holes was $9! (with cart) free without cart.A couple of long green to tee jaunts making walking a little more difficult. Really good value.
10/04/2001 align=absmiddle Price- $19.50 without cart - $28.00 with cart. Replays free without cart $9 with cart
10/04/2001 align=absmiddle Course needs major overall and fixing up. Has potential, but, current owner doesn't/can't spend the money necessary. VERY challenging course and can be fun if you're not looking for a spectacular course.

09/26/2001 align=absmiddle Fairways and greens need to be mowed and you can not tell the differnce between the fairway and the rough

09/10/2001 align=absmiddle Small but well maintained grees. The fairways are a little bit rough and patchy in places though. Good value for money. Play can be slow due to the number of 'weekend hackers' on the course looking for lost balls in the trees which line almost every hole.

09/07/2001 align=absmiddle A good little Executive 9 (7 par-3's and two par-4's). The greens and fairways are well maintained, and the staff takes thier course seriously. A couple really short holes (less that 100 yds) are a bit of a joke, though.

08/31/2001 align=absmiddle great arthur hills course. nestled in the woods and hills of Jonesville. Play it every time I visit the cottage. Play twice from different tee boxes. Fun course
08/31/2001 align=absmiddle #2 is a 450+ yard par 4, up hill to a very slippery green. Bogey is a great score. One of the best par fours I have ever played.
08/31/2001 align=absmiddle Although it cost $85 it is worth it. The course is in great condition and the layout is extremely challenging. It is worth a trip.
08/30/2001 align=absmiddle A good way to kill 2 hours, there's not much else to say good about the course. It's literally a large backyard with mounds (greens) that have holes in them to hold the flagsticks. However it's very cheap and if you're a beginner, there's practically no trouble, so it's good practice before you play on a real course.
08/30/2001 align=absmiddle Beautiful course. Top notch service. Expensive but worth it. All 3 courses at the Greenbrier are unique and challenging. Excellent golf school.

08/29/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great course and one of the best golf values you will ever find. If this were in a big city in Texas (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio), it would be $100+. I have played it five times over several years and it has always been in spectacular condition.

08/23/2001 align=absmiddle Over priced at 47.00 week days, needs quite a bit of work.
08/22/2001 align=absmiddle Great course, nice challenge. Wish it was a full 18 hole course. Used to be the old airport, absolutely no remnants of the old airport. Fun course to play with Family and Friends.
08/22/2001 align=absmiddle Very boring design. It is on a very flat piece of land and there is very little variety from one hole to another. It is an extremely easy course to play with almost no hazards or trees. However, the greens fees are reasonable and it wasn't too crowded. Unfortunately, there is not one exciting hole, or shot, on the entire course.

08/22/2001 align=absmiddle It's a good place to practice and hit some short irons. It's a good price, and I think it's a better value than spending a few bucks on a bucket of balls, and definately more fun.

08/21/2001 align=absmiddle Best public course around.
08/20/2001 align=absmiddle This is a good 9 hole practice course. The price reflects the quality but for short game practice it is great. Highly recommended for starters.
08/19/2001 align=absmiddle One of the best courses in the Calgary Area!
08/18/2001 align=absmiddle A Very decent 9-hole course. I would recommend it for a quick 9 or 18 for beginners or the amatuer. When I played this course the area was in the middle of a heatwave/dryspell but the greens, and the fairways for the most part were well watered
08/17/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
08/16/2001 align=absmiddle I played this course several days ago and I have to say that it was possibly the worst experience I've had in a LONG time. It was equivalent to playing golf in an unmowed vacant lot. The teeboxes, if you could call them that, were uncut and overgrown with tall grass, the fairways were in horrible condition, and the greens were patchy and hard. I personally am never going to play this course again and I recommend that you all do the same.

08/12/2001 align=absmiddle Nichols is now called Webster-Dudley golf course, It is a very nice course with extremely fast greens. The course is really worth playing, even though it's only a nine hole club. Unfortunately you can not play on weekends unless you are a member, it's semi-private. you must call for a tee time always.
08/12/2001 align=absmiddle Hemlock is a hidden treasure! Plush, fast greens, nice layout, well maintained and challenging enough to be happy about a good round. It has long and short holes as well as open and narrow ones. Excellent 9 hole course!
08/12/2001 align=absmiddle Not worth the money. Many other great courses to play in the area. Lousy layout, with many blind shots, with little bail out near greens.

08/08/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great course for juniors and or Duffers.
08/07/2001 align=absmiddle The service and pace of play are exellent but the pace of play is only good because not many go to this course because the fairway's are like concrete and you have to pick it clean or you will break your wrists.
08/07/2001 align=absmiddle If you enjoy a tight course you will have to try this one. I find I play my best game at Savannah it will make you think about every shot you take.

08/06/2001 align=absmiddle Spending over $20 for a 9 hole course whose fairways are in the condition they are is not good value. I would much rather spend an extra $15-20 to play 18 holes with better course conditions. There is one redeeming aspect to this course, though. The greens are often sloped enough to make reading them a challenge. The staff is also friendly. I agree that finding a spot without advance reservations is VERY difficult.
08/05/2001 align=absmiddle Interesting course, but not too difficult - hidden away and not crowded.

07/29/2001 align=absmiddle A great little executive 18 holer. Very pretty and quite challenging, despite the sort yardage. Accurate iron play is a must to score well. Seveal homes have evil bukers waiting to trap the errant drive. Notorious for slow play. especially on weekends. But the beautiful surroundings make the waiting bearable if you're not in too much of a hurry.

07/28/2001 align=absmiddle Play from 6 to 7 for reduced rate daily, otherwise a little pricey. Great back 9.

07/27/2001 align=absmiddle One of the finest resort courses in the midwest, a must play if you are in the Brainerd area.
07/27/2001 align=absmiddle For the Money you won't find a better place around. Winter greens are unreal.
07/27/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/25/2001 align=absmiddle The course is pretty straight forward with a variety of shots available. The help is friendly and the food is decent, they have a liquor license. The coure is kept in very good condition and the greens roll true but could be a little faster.
07/25/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/25/2001 align=absmiddle Course is actually somewhat hilly - especially the back nine. Not a course to walk (will cause slow play and it is quite long between some holes). Very nice after a day or two after a good soaking rain. Greens are rock hard most of the time due to Illinois clay. Fairways are mostly tree lined as this course winds through a development. Requires straight-shooting on almost every hole. Some greens have fans around them to cool the air as the summers can be quite stagnant and humid.
07/23/2001 align=absmiddle Good course for beg-mid level.
07/23/2001 align=absmiddle Fun course but an unusual course set-up. Good value. Best for Beg-Mid level players. Good conditions for a public course.
07/23/2001 align=absmiddle Great value. The course is packed very tight together, so it is not hard to hit into a different fairway (or the road).
07/23/2001 align=absmiddle This course was one of the most scienic, challanging and interesting courses I have played in my years of playing golf.
07/20/2001 align=absmiddle A very interesting 9 hole layout that changes tees a great deal for the second nine. It's almost like playing a different 9 holes except for 2 holes
07/20/2001 align=absmiddle THE ULTIMATE MUNI DOGTRACK
07/17/2001 align=absmiddle This public course is keep in good shape, both the fairways and the greens. It gets a great deal of play, but the pace is most times good for a 9 hole golf course. Not a very difficult course is you stay in the fairways and on the greens. A good fun course for the average golf player.
07/15/2001 align=absmiddle Greens and tee boxes were a mess. Staff that I encountered were rude.
07/15/2001 align=absmiddle Very challenging course for any handicap.
07/13/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/13/2001 align=absmiddle It's more of a local, hackers course. It plays pretty slow b/c there are no carts. Its a decent place to play nine holes. Not very busy on the weekends.
07/12/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle Somewhat difficult executive course. Not overly forgiving. Plays well as a second shot long course. Beautiful surroundings.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle This was a fun course to play. The fairways are nice and wide. There are 5 water hazards to challenge you. I'm a beginner and enjoyed it immensely.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle Nice relaxed course, friendly people working there.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle A great place to play all of the time.An excellent place to play target golf.Good course management and your off to play a solid round everytime.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle The lack of nearby houses and the isolated routing of the course make you feel like you're playing all by yourself. The wind swirling through the many trees makes it difficult to judge.
07/11/2001 align=absmiddle The Georgia State Park golf courses are a wonderful value. The regular rates are very good and there are still better rates available with 5-day and campers packages. If you would love a quality golf vacation but don't have a lot of money, try this and the other Ga. SP courses.
07/10/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/07/2001 align=absmiddle This is a nice course for beginners with seven par 3 and two par 4 holes. There are only a few water hazards, and bunkers but not too over-whelming. The course also has a nice combination of long and short holes longest being 283 yards and the shortest being 85 yards. This is a nice course for all skill levels.
07/07/2001 align=absmiddle Nice course for the whole family. A couple of narrow fairways but no water hazards although you will find a few bunkers. Keep an eye out on the ninth hole because a lot stray balls come from the driving range. A lot of beginners are on this course so be patient and expect some waiting.
07/07/2001 align=absmiddle Beware the wind!
07/07/2001 align=absmiddle The course description is wrong. I just played this course and there are no water hazards, this is a dry course.
07/06/2001 align=absmiddle I love the holes down by the beach!!
07/05/2001 align=absmiddle There are few better courses than this one in the Valley. A+
07/05/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
07/04/2001 align=absmiddle Not a bad track. The bunkers are filled with very coarse sand and turn to hard mud when wet. A couple of holes have trees in the centres of the fairway that penalize a decent shot down the middle. Easy to get on the course if you happen to be in the area - call and they can likely fit in a single or a twosome at most times.
07/02/2001 align=absmiddle Great for sgort game good place to bring kids to learn and play....
07/01/2001 align=absmiddle The most beautiful course nature has ever made. wonderful teracing and layout. love it
07/01/2001 align=absmiddle Very fun and challenging course! It is much easier the second time around due to the high number of "blind" shots and approach strategy. If you aren't used to golfing in UT, club down a club or two on every shot. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

06/28/2001 align=absmiddle This course has a simple layout that is deceptivly hard. The course is forgiving to newer players but challenging enough for seasoned players.
06/28/2001 align=absmiddle The Greens are in excellent condition & quite fast, and the fairways are in good shape. You can use every club in your bag to get around the Water, Sand Traps, Trees & Bunkers. Management is continually improving the course so you can further enjoy a round of golf.
06/28/2001 align=absmiddle While the froont nine provides a nice challenge the back nine is a nice links style lay out. The course condition was VERY nice and the serviec was great as well. This is a must play course if in the area.
06/27/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/25/2001 align=absmiddle good course - cheap - what more could you ask for? the three separate nine hole course layout is interesting, and allows for more tee-times - a benefit.
06/23/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/20/2001 align=absmiddle Bring the OFF. The mosquitos were quite bad early in the morning. Lots of drinking water on the course. Beverage cart was first seen about 10:00 am.
06/20/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great course for the beginner. The huge tornado of 1999 completely destroyed the course. It is currently being rebuilt. As a result it is wide open and very forgiving. The greens are in good shape but the fairways are hard.
06/20/2001 align=absmiddle This course is well maintained and a true pleasure to play. It lacks alot of hazards and as such lends itself to low scores. Well worth the money.
06/20/2001 align=absmiddle If you just want to get in a quick round you need to play during the day. It gets too busy in the evenings. The course is in outstanding shape (6-2001). There are many challenges for golfers of all skill levels.
06/19/2001 align=absmiddle A hidden gem. Great for your accuracy and long irons. JC
06/19/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
06/19/2001 align=absmiddle The greens on the back are GONE! Algae has taken over. Greens on the front are very rough and heavily top-dressed. Additionally, the front greens have large areas that are also perishing. Treatment is being done to kill the algae on the back, but it'll be @ least 30-45 days or more before there's enough grass grown back on them to actually call them GREENS {;( P.S. Read my e-mail about this course. Your description is very out-of-date and if there are LARGE greens here, come and show ME! Thanks Spoon
06/19/2001 align=absmiddle This is a fun course to play. As a single they will be able normally get you out on the course. Good for working on you short game as you have five par threes.
06/15/2001 align=absmiddle This is one of the best kept secrets on Long Island.A true links-style course. Wind is always a factor. The greens are in excellent shape and roll true. Water comes into play on more than 5 holes including the signature par 5 16th where you must go over water twice. The front nine is easier than the back where many good rounds have gone bad at this course's version of amen corner beginning at the par 3 15th. If you get a chance to play this course do it. You won't be sorry. The only complaint I have is that the parking lot is too small. But they do offer valet service if you're so inclined.
06/15/2001 align=absmiddle A short course that gets boring. Little variety in shots. Greens tend to be hard but slow. The pace of play is like a snail and service leaves much to be desired.
06/14/2001 align=absmiddle Great open layout! OBX is a sleeping golf town and when it wakes, this course will be one of the most plays.
06/14/2001 align=absmiddle Great open layout! OBX is a sleeping golf town and when it wakes, this course will be one of the must plays.
06/14/2001 align=absmiddle Practice your low straight drives because the wind plays havoc on balls hit high. Amazing course with challenging par 3s and par 5s. Once the new clubhouse is open later fall 2001, this will be a place to play!
06/14/2001 align=absmiddle Nice combination of links style and trees. Very challenging for the average golfer. Thick rough.
06/07/2001 align=absmiddle Though it is tough, with the elevation changes, it is one of the most challenging and fun courses to play.
06/07/2001 align=absmiddle Only $1 a hole, that's good but it can get crowded and when pushed, ruins a novice players game.
06/06/2001 align=absmiddle Fun Course 3nd set of boxes changes some holes dramatically all in all very challenging and pretty

05/24/2001 align=absmiddle great course for beginners. some holes can be quite challenging. a little of everything
05/24/2001 align=absmiddle This course is now closed. It is now a wharehouse field with now building for wharehousing. Closed Jan 2000
05/18/2001 align=absmiddle THE SLOPE ON THIS COURSE IS 124 FROM THE CHAMP TEES AND 122 FROM THE WHITES NOT 111 AS YOU HAVE ON YOUR HANDICAP TRACKING
05/17/2001 align=absmiddle Excellent course. Long fairways. Lots of doglegs. Both back and front 9 are a challenge.
05/16/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/16/2001 align=absmiddle An Executive course that still tests your game. Wide fairways and large greens, all situated on a very nice course layout. Will defintely play it again.
05/16/2001 align=absmiddle The greens here are to die for!! Greenskeeper is a retired farmer who knows his stuff and should be a teacher for the upscale courses!
05/16/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/16/2001 align=absmiddle A great place to golf. If you want glitz and glamour, a place to eat and grab a beer with decent service, this isn't the place. However, the food is pretty good once the bartender/chef/hostess is done smoking outside and chatting with all the regular losers who always seem to be there when I go. Just go for the awesome greens and nice layout and enjoy a relaxing day of golf.
05/15/2001 align=absmiddle Has some tight fairways!
05/15/2001 align=absmiddle Beautiful use of valley in layout.
05/15/2001 align=absmiddle Very challenging course!
05/14/2001 align=absmiddle A great course for the money. It takes you through the tree country. It plays slow in the summer like all cape cod courses. very challenging. great lay out. D.J.

05/11/2001 align=absmiddle The 9 hole course is in beter shape than most 18 hole courses in the area. For $16, this is a great value.
05/10/2001 align=absmiddle A great course for the amateur player. Challenging fairways and terrain. The greens are always in good shape; can be fast, but always in good shape

05/09/2001 align=absmiddle Quick, well kept, inexpensive, and a great view.
05/08/2001 align=absmiddle The best course I have ever played. If you are not in the fairway you are in the woods and I mean woods. I can't say enough.
05/08/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/08/2001 align=absmiddle Although this course has some very beautiful views, for $51.00 (including cart) I would expect the greens to be free of weeds and to roll more true. The fairways, however, were in good condition as of 5/2001.
05/08/2001 align=absmiddle Greens are amazing. This course greatly helped my short game, with REAL par threes, and a new par 5.
05/08/2001 align=absmiddle As long as you have 5 hours, this course isn't bad for a municaple course. The proshop is full of know-it-all twits, but the rangers are great. Greens and traps are the best I've seen there in years.
05/08/2001 align=absmiddle the front 9 is pretty wide open and is very hard to get into trouble. it does however have a challenging par 4 if your not long of the tee. #6 is is fairly straight but it is 479 yards away ranking the hardest hole on the course. the back 9 is a different story, if your not acurate with your shots there are some hazards that can jump up and bite you. all in all this is a good course and the just lengthened the course by a few hundred yards and spent a few million in course renavation and a brand new irrigation system.
05/07/2001 align=absmiddle Not a very long course. If you like wide open flat courses, then this course is not for you. The fairways, greens and tees are in pretty good shape, the rough can use more grass on some of the holes. The 3 par 5's are doglegs and club selection and acuracy are important on all three. Overall, the course has a nice layout and is a bargain even at non-resident rates.
05/06/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
05/05/2001 align=absmiddle This golf course is not much worth the money. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good golf outing.
05/05/2001 align=absmiddle This is a beautiful course with narrow fairways, and average sized greens. The fairways are in great condition. I really enjoyed golfing there.
05/05/2001 align=absmiddle The actual rates for 18 with cart are 16 midweek and 21 weekend but that's still a great deal. This is a short course that is great for learning the game and if you're playing solo you may be asked to join a group halfway through. I started playing about a month ago and I play this course every chance I get. The back nine starts off with three easy pars that can really boost a novice player's ego!

05/03/2001 align=absmiddle Poorly maintained course with bare spots and divots on small, inconsistent greens. Deceptively challenging layout and design. Better value is nearby Mountain Springs.
05/03/2001 align=absmiddle One of the nicest 9-hole courses in the Central Valley. Interesting layout with plenty of trees to contend with. Condition of greens are somewhat inconsistent.
05/02/2001 align=absmiddle Doesn't get over crowded like some public courses. Greens are deceptively quick. Front 9 layout is interesting, but back 9 is a little boring until you get to 18. Overall, the course is in good condition and a very good value.
05/01/2001 align=absmiddle Tee boxes are not well maintained. The greens are also very slow: very thick grass. Rough plays more like a fairway.
04/29/2001 align=absmiddle Great course and great value at $29 per round. Can be quite a drive if you don't live on the west side, but well worth the mileage visually. The easy holes are tempered by very difficult ones, so take advantage of the shorter par fours. Watchout for #6. Short par 5 that's reachable in two, but the #1 handicap hole with tractor beam water along the right side.
04/27/2001 align=absmiddle Green's are in better shape now, but for the money it is not a bad deal. Some of us cannot afford the higher priced courses.
04/26/2001 align=absmiddle clubhouse personnel are very friendly.their glad your there and want you to come back.
04/25/2001 align=absmiddle Great place to learn. Not much fun if you know how to golf. The course is very forgiving 9-hole layout. Most golfers are beginners, and they tend to play on any fairway (Except their own). If you want to learn, this is a great place because not many golfers there care about bad play. Only tip...bring your hard hat.
04/24/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
04/22/2001 align=absmiddle Nice layout and always nice at the clubhouse that is and old one room school, however the greens are VERY slow, mowed more like a tee box and not a green. green fees are a little high for the course condition.

04/17/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great course, and I would highly recomend it. It is a course that all skill levels can enjoy. And the staff was fantastic.
04/16/2001 align=absmiddle I tried the course for the first time. It was a swamp. I also found the members to be the rudest people I have found on any course.
04/15/2001 align=absmiddle Great place to sharpen your skills or just practice.
04/14/2001 align=absmiddle It is a nice Executive golf course with nice large greens and some tricky holes
04/14/2001 align=absmiddle winds thru a trailer park tight/narrow fairways basic par 3 course. You are respon. for any trailers you hit. I won't play it again!
04/13/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
04/12/2001 align=absmiddle Challenging greens. A tough pin placement could have a bold downhill putt hitting a wedge back onto green! Target golf course where birdies are possible if you keep it in the fairway. Many side-hill lies, even in fairway.

04/10/2001 align=absmiddle A bit short but a fine layout
04/10/2001 align=absmiddle A beautifully sculptured course winding through a pine forest and overlooking the Ottawa river.
04/10/2001 align=absmiddle enjoyable day of golf.
04/10/2001 align=absmiddle I played the course last summer as I went on the Bear Trace Trail here in Tn. and it had just opened. You could tell it was a new but I have driven by the course in the last month and it looks like it has been open for years. It has developed nicely. To me, it seems like one of the better layouts of all the courses.

04/06/2001 align=absmiddle If you want to ruin your clubs, play here. Not a well maintained course. The maintenence crew are never working on this course and it wouldn't suprise me if they are all sitting around drinking beers.I would too if I was taking care of this course. They really need to put some money into fixing the fairways and the greens, they need to fix the drainage and hole #5.This hole is a long Par 5 and when you reach the green,it is the size of a baseball diamond."What were they thinking?"

04/04/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great course to catch 9 holes after work or if you dont have a lot of time. But sometimes everybody is thinking that and play can get slow in summer. You also catch a few beginners starting out here which can slow you down a little too. The layout is not the best, a lot of big hills and not long, but for a 9 hole course they usually keep it in really good condition. It is not expesive to play here either.

03/29/2001 align=absmiddle This Course Is The Funnest But Challenging Course!!!!
03/29/2001 align=absmiddle The course would be fun if i could play it but it is to much money and they need to lower the price. I comment on how good the course looks and i just wish they would lower the price a bit! If someone reads this from thankgiving point take the price into consideration you have got to be making a killing with that price but only the rich can play lower just a bit so that the poorer could play a round of two please!!!!
03/29/2001 align=absmiddle This is the best course for just a fun and not quite as challenging so you don't loose as many balls i would recomend this course to anyone. it is cheap and the carts are only 5 bucks. If you haven't played this course i would tell you to because it is so fun!
03/29/2001 align=absmiddle I have played all of the course at Chateau and had good experiences every time. The facilities are great and it's a wonderful place to go for a get-away (especially since my wife plays golf!)

03/22/2001 align=absmiddle A very fun course and a good playing experience for all levels. Play is sometimes slow as it is a very busy course. Water comes into play on a lot of holes, and bunkers are placed well. A very fun course to play.
03/21/2001 align=absmiddle I was a little worried about paying $190 to play a round in March, but the layout was worth every penny! Elevation changes really make for some beautiful tee shots. Design of small greens on reachable par 5's and large greens on long par 3's and 4's was well done and added some challenge and foregiveness. Watch out for club selection with downhill tee shots and uphill approaches to greens.
03/21/2001 align=absmiddle A complete waste of time. Avoid this course at all costs.

03/14/2001 align=absmiddle This is a great 9 hole golf course in a picturesque location making it ideal for family vacation stops or simply a quick round after work.
03/14/2001 align=absmiddle Great par-3. My in-laws own a condo here, so I get to play a lot. If you get a chance to stay and play at the Edgewater do it. you won't be dissappointed.
03/13/2001 align=absmiddle too expensive for what you get...boring for a fazio design

03/11/2001 align=absmiddle poor upkeep, fairway are always chewed up,staff has bad attitudes
03/10/2001 align=absmiddle There are a couple of inaccurate statements in the online course description. 1--they have signs up on all the doors stating that metal spikes will no longer be allowed. 2--there are SEPARATE tee-off positions for ladies.
03/10/2001 align=absmiddle Tough course. Mostly short, but requires strategic shot placement. Careful for the snapping turtles in the creek! Just drop a new ball!
03/09/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
03/07/2001 align=absmiddle Visually a pretty course with lots of water, young trees which rarely come into play. My knock on the course are the young fairways with lots of gaps so if you don't "bump" you may get some tough lies. And, the greens are tricked up with lots of terraces and valleys. A pin placement on a ridge can easily lead to a 4 or 5 putt. It is a public course ... and a little expensive for a public course. Nice facilities, and depending who you get at the counte,r service can range from friendly/fine to abrupt/sour. The Par 3s are exceptionally nice holes and are what I look forward to playing. Rough is legitimate tough ... try not to go there.
03/06/2001 align=absmiddle Very short track. Greens usually in pretty good condition. Would recomend to those looking for a decent course with not much challenge. Play here to practice your short to mid range irons. Only need a driver on 2 maybe 3 holes.
03/06/2001 align=absmiddle No. 9 is a very tough par 4 and so is No. 17, long par 4 all uphill. Maybe a little pricey, but a good test of your golf skills.
03/06/2001 align=absmiddle Played there once, really well conditioned course. It's off the beaten path out I-20 but it was worth it.
03/06/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
03/05/2001 align=absmiddle A fairly average course, but moderately difficult on the back nine. Very hilly, with some tough greens, but now water to speak of.
03/05/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
03/04/2001 align=absmiddle Lots of trees very pretty. Pace is a little slow at the second hole but it opens up nice after that bottle neck. GREAT course for short game practice of taking the wife and kids out for a short round and ice cream (Dairy Queen is across the street!) ENJOY!
03/03/2001 align=absmiddle Nice executive course. Finishes nicely with a few easy holes that can trim your score.
03/03/2001 align=absmiddle Nice course. Lots of hills come into play. Driving straight up one hill on one hole. Then a drop-away drive on the next. Often calls for a subtle touch. A short course, but can play longer.

02/28/2001 align=absmiddle For an executive course, You will not find a nicer one. Very well maintained and beautiful. Staff is great. Really fast greens.
02/28/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
02/28/2001 align=absmiddle Tough but fun. For the money it was a nice course, make a point to play.
02/28/2001 align=absmiddle nice course and the greens ran true. For the money it was borderline because it was flat and open.
02/24/2001 align=absmiddle Although this tucked away course has been found by many it has caused greens to be worn. Nice course for weekly player with average or below caliper or for father / son outing as well as the retirees. Fairly good learning course. Staff great attitudes. But give the greens a break need some tlc.
02/23/2001 align=absmiddle Kolomi Golf Course is a great place to spend your time! They offer great service and very well kept course to the public.
02/22/2001 align=absmiddle This was a very challenging course. Set in the Flint Hills, the course uses the natural setting to increase difficulty and beauty. The longest hole is 620 yards and there are 130 sand bunkers. It is a long course to play, but well worth it!
02/22/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
02/22/2001 align=absmiddle THIS IS AN OLD COURSE WITH MANY LARGE MAPLE TREES LINING THE FAIRWAYS.MANY LOCAL AMATEUR TOURNAMENTS ARE PLAYED HERE.A VERY GOOD TEST FOR THE AVERAGE AND LOW HANDICAP GOLFER
02/22/2001 align=absmiddle THIS IS A GOOD COURSE FOR THE BEGINNER.BUT, UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF YOUNG BEGINNERS ON THIS COURSE, THE PACE OF PLAY CAN BECOME SLOW AT TIMES.
02/22/2001 align=absmiddle THIS COURSE WAS CLOSED 2 YEARS AGO.
02/20/2001 align=absmiddle What a gem this is in the middle of nowhere--well almost! A fun course to walk, look out for the bird size mosquitos in the evenings.
02/17/2001 align=absmiddle this is not an 18 hole course...they ran out of money , and onyl the front 9 is complete
02/15/2001 align=absmiddle I grew up on this course and learned to play here. Not a bad little desert course, though very short. No par-5's but OB on nearly every hole for players who hook the ball. Current tour player Tommy Armour III shot the course record here when we played against each other in high school.
02/14/2001 align=absmiddle This is an easy course and fun to play. It is one of the nicest 9 hole courses in the state.
02/14/2001 align=absmiddle tough greens!!!! very narrow, lots of water, very challenging. Wonderful owners..

02/12/2001 align=absmiddle Nice little executive course. Play can be a bit slow in season.
02/11/2001 align=absmiddle rosebrook is a great course in a great little beach resort town on lake erie. we found it right at exit 58 of the nys thruway and enjoyed the layout and staff friendlyness. the 15th hole was very challenging. the 12 th par 5 and 13th par 3 are very beautiful back to back layouts.the fast greens were the hilite though.after golf we went to surfers beach club on the lake for great food and cocktails.rosebrook is the best kept secret in western new york.
02/11/2001 align=absmiddle great course for the advanced golfer. not enough make up par 5's and par 3's though. very difficult long par 4's. if your game is not up to snuff it will eat you alive. lots of side hill lies and wierd landing areas. a short straight hitter has no chance against the long ball players.conditions went down hill in 2000 with the loss of the top rated greens keeper in the area.members treat outsiders very rudely though and is not very a friendly place for a woman to play. club house staff was very friendly though.
02/11/2001 align=absmiddle small course but lots of fun. location in angola on the lake makes it worth the ride.lots to do after golf with many parks, beach bars and eateries. staff is very friendly and cost is almost to cheap. it is not a par three but it is short. great part is you can play it in 90 minutes and still get to play a couple woods and long irons. trees on a couple of holes need major trimming though. fun place.
02/11/2001 align=absmiddle great place .you will need all the clubs in the bag. beutiful setting in chautauqua wine country. fast greens for public course. 5 par fives and 4 great par 3 holes. also a nice mix of driveable par 4's and tough par 4's. the price was right too.

02/04/2001 align=absmiddle This is a very pretty course that is rarely crowded. Even though there are no par 5's this course can be a challenge. I love playing here. And the price is right!

02/01/2001 align=absmiddle Good course for beginner and weekend golfers wanting to work on their short game. Just added a new front nine/converted original back nine to get par 71. Still has front nine that's lighted.
02/01/2001 align=absmiddle Tough links course designed by Raymond Floyd. This course will make you appreciate the talent of the pros..
01/30/2001 align=absmiddle Challenging to all levels of skill, manicured beautifully, and scenic, so much in one course. Entertainment at it's finest
01/30/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle just overpriced for what you get. course was in bad condition holes and ruts in fairways
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle just like Anaheim Hills, if you're no a resident don't even try for a decent tee time, it's hopeless
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle just like Anaheim Hills, if you're not a resident don't even try for a decent tee time, it's hopeless
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle if you son't mind playing the same 9 twice it's a good course, always in good condition. Try there pancakes in the morning mmmmm good
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle if you don't mind playing the same 9 twice it's a good course, always in good condition. Try there pancakes in the morning mmmmm good
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle get some new fairways and the course would be a lot better off
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle changed management last year and has fallen to pieces. greens are about dead
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle greens are dead or dying, management, wake up, get a greens keeper
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle best place I ever played !! near of the middle town !!
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle Overall very good course. Friendly and helpful staff. Conditions usually above average. My favorite in the area.
01/27/2001 align=absmiddle Not a good course for begginers but I play it anyway. Narrow, slopeing fairways heavily lined with old growth trees and fast small greens. Most likely the best public course Somerset county has. Just bring an extra sleeve or 2 of balls if you tend to slice or hook.
01/23/2001 align=absmiddle Bring your whole bag of shots to play RC West. It's a fun course, tight in some places, open in others, with some drives and approaches requiring shots over the meandering creek that winds through the property. The green fees are kind of steep, though that is to be expected in the Monterey/Carmel/Pebble area. If you can't afford the big boys down here (Pebble, Spyglass, etc.) give RC West a try for a relaxing round that rewards good shotmaking.
01/22/2001 align=absmiddle A very short, tight course. Challenging without being over difficult.
01/22/2001 align=absmiddle Flat, long, and uninspired.

01/11/2001 align=absmiddle The best public course I've played in any state. A true golfers course and value too.
01/09/2001 align=absmiddle easy course that is not kept up verry well
01/09/2001 align=absmiddle This is an exelent Trent Jones II course layout. It's one of my favorite courses in the U.S. The 16th green is surrounded by 170,000 flowering plants. Bring your camera.
01/08/2001 align=absmiddle This course is over priced for the course ...tries to be a country club and acts like it...nice layout and in good condition but needs to look at proce structure...
01/06/2001 align=absmiddle Visually very playable, very good layout and exceptionally friendly staff. Worth a trip from Myrtle Beach or anyplace else to play. Try and also play the 'Member's' nine (total of 27 holes).
01/06/2001 align=absmiddle On a windy day you'll think you were playing at the British Open. Staff very friendly. The latest 9 holes (27 hole complex) are difficult but fair - know your yardages!!
01/06/2001 align=absmiddle Links design which was easy yet fun to play. The layout required tons of earth to be moved to great dunes/hills (full of wild grass but rarely in play). The toughest holes are 1, 17 and 18. Always check for sprinkler head yardage markers. Nice way to start a golf trip - you will not be tasked too much.
01/04/2001 align=absmiddle Pretty much flat and wide open. Wind will come into play no back nine.
01/03/2001 align=absmiddle NICE 9 HOLE COURSE

01/01/2001 align=absmiddle course is terrible,bad layout,bad design,dont waste your time
01/01/2001 align=absmiddle the new prices are about 4 dollors more than posted, most of the people that work there act like you are wasting there time, vary unfriendly,go to anouther course you will have more fun.
01/01/2001 align=absmiddle course could be great, but is in need of TLC,course is always wet, muddy wet, greens are terrible.
01/01/2001 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
12/28/2000 align=absmiddle The best time to play would be during the months of September and October when the leaves are in full color. This is a fun course, but be ready to walk up and down several big hills.

12/20/2000 align=absmiddle This place is golf paradise! 36 championship holes- Panther Lake and Crooked Cat both received 4 1/2 Stars in Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play" for 2000. It also has a 50 room lodge with reasonably priced golf packages!
12/19/2000 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
12/19/2000 align=absmiddle a smaller course with many par 3,but very challenging and nicely laid out
12/19/2000 align=absmiddle We played this course in March and it was great for the time of year.I would definitly recommend it and hope to return in 2001.
12/18/2000 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
12/18/2000 align=absmiddle My favorite course! Well maintained, very friendly staff. Enough hazards to be quite challenging for the average golfer, without being discouraging! Can be difficult to get on the course without reservations.
12/18/2000 align=absmiddle this course is very poorly managed last time I golfed this course the grounds keeper told me the fairways hadn't been mowed in 2 weeks. If you are cheap and don't want to spend money golf here. I highly recomend Dry Creek golf course
12/18/2000 align=absmiddle While most snub courses like these, Jans is a jewel in the crown of this sport. The tightness of the course, especially #2, is like nothing you have ever seen. If played at the right time of the year, it can be very tranquil and lovely while a major challenge. The greens are tiny and the beauty of the course is major. Great place to bring the kids. It\'s in the hole!
12/18/2000 align=absmiddle The price is actually $5.00 dollars to play. Best deal in town. The best time to start is the morning, before the crowd comes in to play. It's a very popular course amongst the young ppl population here in town. Often gets backed-up when 4-somes are playing. The course is managed by hidden cameras installed throughout the course. I feel that the owner is quite paranoia and can be anal at times.

12/16/2000 align=absmiddle Truly a JOY to play!!! Fine, secluded facility.
12/15/2000 align=absmiddle If youre planning a trip to Myrtle Beach you must play one of these Legends courses. The course really looks as good as the brochure pictures!

12/12/2000 align=absmiddle GOOD PLACE TO PRACTICE IRONS 7-W

12/12/2000 align=absmiddle Varsity golf course. Beautiful layout that will require great shots from every club in your bag, from both sets of tees. The contour and speed of the greens make them some of the most challenging in the state. Our group of 8 to 10 players are all single-digit handicappers. We always walk off the 18th green drained and whooped, but knowing we just completed 4.5 hrs of golf the way it was meant to be - mentally and physically demanding. Classic course. Walking is promoted and encouraged, and caddies are available with advanced notice. Worth the trip.
12/11/2000 align=absmiddle Being a beginning Golfer, this course was the first that I ever played. I found it to be an excellent beginners course, however, some of those holes are really pro quality. I highly reccommend this course

12/03/2000 align=absmiddle Best public course for 50 miles around? The layout is marvelous. Great maintenence, friendly staff, and a challenging test of golf make this place special. Expensive but worth it. I've yet to play Scotland but with a little drizzle and the wind kicking up, you'd swear you could hear bagpipes. Pace of play can get very slow sometimes.
12/03/2000 align=absmiddle 5 somes is somewhat of a drawback. The greens are flat, there is no break whatsoever. No par 5's, short course.
11/30/2000 align=absmiddle The city is doing some work on the course and it will make it even better, its a fun course to play.
11/29/2000 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
11/28/2000 align=absmiddle Great value for this type of course, plenty of water hazzards!
11/28/2000 align=absmiddle The layout and design are very tough. it is a great value. The greens are very fast. They have 3 very tough par 5s. Water comes in to play on two holes 10 and 18. I would recommend this great course.
11/27/2000 align=absmiddle Will be sold soon to make way for condos.
11/27/2000 align=absmiddle Good course to work on your short game, but tee boxes are in sad shape! Fairways also in poor shape
11/26/2000 align=absmiddle Nice courses for the money. Have problems with greens. Many are patchwork from trying to repair them from previous course green super who caused many to die out in areas
11/24/2000 align=absmiddle having been a member for two years and having played more than 500 different courses i highly recommend you try this layout it has three different set of 6 holes one links two woodeded three holes withlakes worth trying

11/21/2000 align=absmiddle This course is a great way to get your short game in shape for the season. Lots of water on the front nine and danger to the left on the back. Bring extra balls.
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle This course is a great course to learn on. Can get very busy on the weekends, but nearly empty in the evenings. Watch out for tournaments on the weekends as well. The course itself is short, but engaging. Good mix of holes, but the par 4 9th is way too short (used to be a par 3).
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle Anyone would love this course.
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle This is one of the best par three courses I've seen.
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle as a county course this is a pasture
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle For a par 3 course, it will give you all you want. Have plenty of golf balls the first time you play. Water comes to play in 5 out of 9 holes.
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle excellent price and quite challanging for all ages
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle This course is very challanging and quite fun to play
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle A very pretty course, with Mt Whitney right behind it and of course the whole sierra mountian range. Challenging greens, must read each one.
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle This is a very friendly golf course. It's easy to walk if you wish due to the layout being somewhat compact. I love the *senior* tees which lots of courses don't have. The course has enough of a challenge to make you work, yet not so much of a challenge that you need to be a scratch golfer to enjoy it. I drive the 45 miles almost weekly just to play this course and gave always had a good time. Please call for directions as it is tucked away and almost impossible to find without directions. ENJOY!
11/21/2000 align=absmiddle MOST HOLES ARE SIDE BY SIDE, YOUR PAYING FOR LOCATION
11/16/2000 align=absmiddle Great layout but service and condition pail in comparison to other courses in the area. The greans are as hard as a 37 min. egg. If you like to see a good wedge shot end up in the wetland go play this one.
11/16/2000 align=absmiddle The course was in bad shape, greens were as hard as a rock, and slow. I felt like I was robbed.
11/15/2000 align=absmiddle Sorry no civilians unless acompanied by a military or dod guest.
11/10/2000 align=absmiddle very friendly

11/09/2000 align=absmiddle Nice friendly place to play! Home owned, hometown golf course. owners improving course everyday.
11/08/2000 align=absmiddle From the back tees it is long and challenging. Fairways are open, but many are sloping hitting into a variety of green sizes. Greens can play fast and are sloped making putting difficult.
11/07/2000 align=absmiddle A lot of water, but fair. Must keep ball in play.
11/07/2000 align=absmiddle No comments submitted with this recommendation.
11/07/2000 align=absmiddle Greens are fast and hard even though course has been open since December 1999. This course will challenge your nerve and management skills with up and down fairways.

11/07/2000 align=absmiddle If it were not for the houses surrounding the course, I'd plow this place up and start over.--You will not believe the driving range until you see it!!
11/07/2000 align=absmiddle Holes 1 and 10 can be tricky for the long hitter with the remainder of the course being fairly forgiving, except to the big hook/slice hitter.

10/28/2000 align=absmiddle Great atmosphere and friendly service.. busy days are usually Sundays.. can usually walk on and play other times....
10/27/2000 align=absmiddle Pleasant atmosphere. Very nice layout for an executive course. Conditioning is good for a public facility and consistent year round.

10/26/2000 align=absmiddle THIS COURSE HAS UNDERGONE AN MAJOR RENOVATION BY ONE OF THE PREMIER COURSE GUYS. I DON'T REMEMBER WHICH ONE BUT I THINK IT WAS FAZIO. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL COURSE NOW. IT IS ALSO MORE EXPENSIVE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC. IF YOU ARE NOT A UNC PERSON IT IS $75.00 DURING THE WEEK.

10/22/2000 align=absmiddle There are many better courses in the area at same or lower green fees.
10/20/2000 align=absmiddle Surprisingly interesting, Only weakness is some fairways slope toward open water hazards.
10/19/2000 align=absmiddle Short nine hole, large mature trees towards center of course and creek running across center of course comes into play on 5 holes. Houses around perimeter on right all around. Fareways are in good shape greens are average. Very good place to work on the short game or go for a quick round of nine. Greens are good to poor depending on weather. Better play in cool weather.

10/16/2000 align=absmiddle This past summer (2000) took it toll on some of those tall, beautiful pines, but they still love to play with you! Just keep out of the forest, and you will love playing the course. Very well maintained, and tough for a 9 hole course. Joining the club is the best value I have found. Call them up and ask them about it. I have been a member for just about a year now, and enjoy it very much. Oh, and if you are into skydiving, that airport mentioned has a skydiving club. That is not part of the country club, but it is fun to watch those crazy people jump out overhead!
10/16/2000 align=absmiddle Best Public course around!!! Great layout for learning course management. You have to lay-up on several holes or go for the gusto for great rewards!
10/16/2000 align=absmiddle the addition of the local casinos has brought this course's standards up and made this a very nice challenge, greens rolling fast and true. well maitained.

10/16/2000 align=absmiddle it's good for a public course but it's not near a country club.
10/16/2000 align=absmiddle It looks very open, so your confidence goes up and you play better golf. Look out for the trees on the fairways, they can kill your day.
10/16/2000 align=absmiddle I've played her all year and is the best course to play at to develp your skills. With narrow fairways and very fast and small greens. Playing here in one year lowered my handicap by 20 i was very poor in the begining of the year and now im keeping up with the poeple who are 20 or 30 years older than me. I'm only 15
10/16/2000 align=absmiddle This is a great course that is exceptionally challenging. It is a pleasure to play and the scenery just adds to the magnificient layout of the course

10/02/2000 align=absmiddle This is a very pretty place to golf and very informal. It's right below the University of Utah hospital in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. It can be a little dangerous sometimes crossing a road that transects the golf course though.

09/20/2000 align=absmiddle Hang on to your hat! Several holes on the water and into the wind, it can play tough. Tough but fun course. Check with the shop before you plan to play, in the summer it is only for members and resort guests.
09/18/2000 align=absmiddle very nice kept course. People were very friendly. Challenging course for all abilities. Really enjoyed playing this course.
09/18/2000 align=absmiddle One of the better courses in the sandhills offers a sound test of your golf skills, lots of hazards, and tough greens.

09/16/2000 align=absmiddle a par 3 9-hole course layed for the beginner in mind. The course has been well thought out.The course also provides play under the lights, so you can get in those extra holes of play.Course amminties are driving range and pro shop worth the visit.

09/15/2000 align=absmiddle good course to learn the game on and to play a relaxing round of golf on.
09/15/2000 align=absmiddle A wonderful, hilly course. Open in many areas, but very deceiving. Well maintained and fun to play. I would recommend this course to all golfers. -Paul C.
09/14/2000 align=absmiddle round lake is the working mans country club--------the club pro( joe) makes ya want to play golf everyday.....for a 9 holer....round lake is a executive course!!!!!!
09/13/2000 align=absmiddle very scenic, every hole gives a different look. Flat , hilly, left and right doglegs. wide open on some holes, narrow tree lined other holes. lot of holes give you different options(go for it or play safe)some elevated tees, and some with uphill all the way. a lot of thought given to design.PLacement very important on some holes:eg 6(long and you may catch left slope and have to play over trees, or short and right and get better angle to pin with mid iron instead! Not manicured like some American type courses(Augusta) but more natural. a definite plus!

09/06/2000 align=absmiddle Very average muni course. Nothing really interesting, or really challenging, but it is playable.
09/05/2000 align=absmiddle Cart path only course makes for a bit of walking. Fairways are narrow and unforgiving, making for many balls that roll into danger zones. A definite "thinking" player's course that offers a challenge.

09/01/2000 align=absmiddle It is a very short course. If you like irons I would recoment it. The driver is only needed 1 hole. It a fun little executive course.
